Any Unforeseen Problems

All of the excited whispers of late seem to be centering on the rumors that Hillary Rodham will become the next Secretary of State. Even though Hillary has barely enough tangible “experience” to be a secretary let alone the Secretary of State, the Obama clan feels that she would “bring instant stature and credibility to U.S. diplomatic relations.” The humor of that “wishful thinking” aside, it seems that all of those pantsuits that Obama paid for at the “suspension” (end) of her campaign won’t be going to waste after all.

The Obama “instant stature” statement can only be outweighed in its naiveté by this clunker from an unnamed Obama aide, “Obama is convinced the advantages of Clinton serving far outweigh potential downsides..” Inexperience as a fault is cute when it pertains to candy stripers or any other neophytes but in a President it is downright dangerous. What he doesn’t recognize is that Rodham doesn’t have much experience but she does have a history..

Back in 1992, when Hillary was nothing more than a potential “First Lady” (just for the record politically speaking, she is nothing more than an “ex First Lady”, stretching the term “Lady” to a degree of gossamer elasticity matched only by her own trousers..) husband Bill said that his election will get everyone “two for the price of one”.. If we as a nation have learned anything from the eight years that the Clintons capered and cavorted on the national stage it’s that that is exactly what we should again be concerned with. The nation’s capitol will be going back to the days of all night keggers and of having an army of bail bondsmen on twenty-four hour alert.

The State Department is just a few blocks from the White House. The good news is that that is about as close as Rodham will ever get to the place. Her new office will be located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington D.C. With the Obama proclivity towards narcoleptic nonsense and hyperbolic helium, it would only be logical for the Capitol Hill neighborhood’s newest resident to move the Capitol building to a more appropriately named neighborhood location.

The team of Mary Mapes and Dan Rather who have apparently orchestrated the vetting process for Rodham, have cleared the way and the Clintonistas are now “back in the game.”

The process for Rodham to receive her “payoff” has been fraught with pain and peril all brought about by that “thirty five years” worth of experience that she gleaned from her husband. The “sticking points” were allegedly the “financial disclosure” issues involving the ex-President’s “complicated international funding of his foundation that operates in 40 different countries”.. “Operates” is certainly the operative word in all of that.

Shouldn’t the Obama “changelings” have had a better understanding of the Clintonistas? For example, shouldn’t they have looked a little bit closer at the question on the Secretary of State application that asked, “Do you or your husband have any allergies that we need to be aware of?” Did they overlook the “full disclosure” and “total honesty” boxes that were checked off? (Were they checked off? If not, then why not?) If the idea of amazing cattle futures investments and Arkansas land grabs (just for starters.) don’t scare off the Obama folks, then I for one see a potential political comebacks for both Tony Rezko and Norman Hsu.

Here we have a classic example of the Obama “cabinet builders” and their perilous habit of being totally oblivious to the obvious termites..

Being that Hillary DOES have experience with the White House travel office, (and her false statements and personal involvement with the illegal firings.. Last chance for a “take back”, Barack..) and being that she is FOURTH in line for the office that she really believes that she deserves, I hope that the President, the Vice President, the Speaker of the House and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate all don’t let her plan a little vacation getaway for them.. The last thing that we need is Don McLean writing another twenty minute song..

Anyone who is at all interested in the ridiculous size of the federal government need only understand the following. The Secretary of State ALONE has at least sixty-two offices and bureaus that are connected to it umbilically. Within any number of these are a number of “affairs” (Office of Commissary and Recreational Affairs, for example.) which will now find themselves under the watchful, wandering and well “affair” trained eye of Bill Clinton. If Bill’s plate ends up being too full, John Edwards is waiting in the wings to take Bill’s castoffs.

The office of the Secretary of State itself was originally titled “Secretary of Foreign Affairs”. No one has more “experience” in the world of “affairs” than Bill Clinton. In looking through the maze of useless and redundant wastes of taxpayer revenues in the State Department, I will guess that Bill will be occupying his time as the “Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs”, soon to be renamed “On top of his secretary, the political affair du jour” by the Obama administration..

One of the more mundane obligations of the Secretary of State is the “assisting of businesses in the international marketplace”. Being that Bill had a little difficulty with his “financial disclosures” as relates to his “foundation” that “operates” in forty foreign countries, doesn’t this seem to be setting up a “fox in the hen house” kind of scenario for our Presidential tyro of “change”?

Six Secretaries of State have gone on to be Presidents. Four have also gone on to win the Nobel Prize. How many have been indicted I am not sure.. I would feel safe in saying that not many have had their hands in things named “Travelgate”, “Whitewater” and just for a hoot tried to implement a Socialized medical program upon an unsuspecting nation..

A little known fact about the Secretary of State is that when the President resigns from the office of the Presidency, he has to notify the Secretary of State in writing. She can deny it until the cows come home but Rodham would love nothing more than to get that letter from the candidate who humiliated her on the national stage. This may be another of the inconsequential areas where Rodham may have “actual experience” being that she probably helped to draft Bill’s letter to Madeleine Albright (probably the most inappropriately surnamed individual on the planet..) during his “affair” that brought embarrassment to the “stature and credibility” of the United States..

“Change” has so far netted us the “insiders” like Joe Biden, Rahm Emanuel and “the thirty five years of inexperience” of Hillary Rodham and they are just getting warmed up. That is of course, unless there are more “any unforeseen problems” in the near future..
