Rewarding Incompetence

The faux “outrage” being displayed by the Obama acolytes of late has certainly been worthy of consideration for an Academy Award nomination. The AIG Corporation, recipients of $170,000,000,000.00 dollars worth of “revenues”, has followed through on their contractual agreements and paid executives $160,000,000.00 in “bonuses”. As the fascists flop and foam in front the impartial media, it is nothing more than another in what will be a four-year sempiternal series of diversionary techniques. Get used to it, America..

The Obama administration, the five or so left who have not had to renege (careful now..) on their jobs and applications for fear of being located by prosecutors, is getting jumpy over a “bailout backlash” and it is time to “redirect the rage” away from the “Ebony Enabler”.

In an article entitled, “Obama: AIG can’t justify ‘outrage’ of exec bonuses”, we hear that Obama opined, “How do they justify this outrage to the taxpayers who are keeping the company afloat?” That may be the question that he is asking but it is important to remember that the real OUTRAGE is actually that you and your subordinates have mandated a taxpayer bailout without “bipartisan inclusion”, common sense or “transparency”..

Obama said, “All across the country, there are people who work hard and meet their responsibilities every day, without the benefit of government bailouts”. They actually have to WORK HARDER BECAUSE OF your bailouts in order to cover the nearly $12,000.00 that it will cost every man, woman and child in America. (Tentative figure as of this writing..) Those who “play by the rules” as he said, are the ones TARGETED by the Obama administration, the ones who will be footing the bill for his “bailout”. This “plan” is both a “pay to play” scheme that would make Bernie Madoff proud and a “redistribution racket” for the lowest/useless class. Those “in the middle” literally and figuratively, will be run over both coming and going by the Obama collectivist caravan.

“This isn’t just about dollars and cents, it’s about our fundamental values”. It IS about “dollars and cents”, OUR “dollar and cents”, that is why it doesn’t matter to Obama and the liberal caliphate. Who is this “our” when a liberal is talking about “fundamental values”? This is probably the biggest definitional inversion within the quote, when it comes to the “fundamentals” of political power, the left is completely devoid of “values”.

Not one to be left out of the frolicking and merriment, Barney Frank (L-MA.) said that the move to pay bonuses amounted to “rewarding incompetence”. Who better than Barney himself would understand this statement? With his fine work in collusion with the Clintonistas on the Financial Services Committee, he has been “enabling incompetence” for nearly seventeen years.

The prancing portly Sylvester the Cat even said, “These people may have a right to their bonuses, they don’t have a right to their jobs forever.”, I certainly wish that this cherubic chipmunk held this view in relation to liberal elected officials who win reelection even after violating laws and ethics rules as a matter of habit. Who wouldn’t pay Barney a severance package to waddle off in search of his next back door buckaroo?

As far as “rewarding incompetence” goes, in 2003, George Bush (the guy the left thought was so “dumb”) recognized the problems and sought to have the oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac taken from Congress and given over to a new and specific branch of the Treasury Department. Fabulous Frank said, “These two entities are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing”.. Freddie and Fannie officials “rewarded” Barney to the tune of over $43,000 in campaign contributions. Another ex- “partner” of Frank’s, Herb Moses, was an executive at Fannie from 1991-1998 where he “developed the affordable housing and home improvement lending programs”.. “Rewarding incompetence?” Bathhouse Barney needs to go back to answering the phones for the escort service his ex-boyfriend (Steve Gobie) was running out of his Washington apartment and leave the legislating to others.

Continuing the “deflection deception”, Barney ended with, “These bonuses are going to people who screwed this thing up enormously, maybe it’s time to fire some people..” I can think of one lisping liberal and his brown Bolshevik buddy for starters..

The liberal motivation behind their “bailout” was the thought that they could take total control of every corporation in America. The liberals cannot control how the corporations handle their contractual obligations and they cannot make those agreements null and void. They cannot “fire” anybody. This is just another reason that a liberal government should stay far, far away from the world of business. The lawsuits from those who would be “victims” of this leftist power grab would end up getting more tax dollars in legal settlements than they would from the companies honoring their bonus agreements.

This is another reason why the Obama “hurry up, HURRY UP!!” mentality of their “economic stimulus package” and their bogus “bailouts” was bound to implode. This is another reason why totalitarian tyros should not be in charge of anything other than mops and buckets. With a figurehead (careful..) “in charge”, this three ring circus and all of its side show freaks mealy mouthing the moronic mantras of “hope and change” make the Ringling Brother look like pikers..

The Obama goons and trolls are all out chumming for imbeciles as they seek to turn everyone’s attention away from the “Ebony Emancipator”. Lawrence Summers, the misogynist in charge of the Obama National Economic Council described the AIG bonuses as “outrageous”, but not as outrageous as his comments about female engineers and scientists back at Harvard..

David Axelrod said, “we’ve got enormous problems that need to be addressed..” Without going into specifics, I will assume that Axelrod is referring to the endless succession of Obama cabinet members and underlings who are having trouble, not only in the Treasury Department but everywhere in the Obama camp, making bail, avoiding FBI search warrants and scheduling testimony under oath.. “There’s a lot of anger about the irresponsibility that led to this point..” They refuse to recognize their responsibility for their irresponsibility. That is the goal of the Obama ghouls, deflect that anger away from the liberals who have endorsed, sanctioned and approved this “irresponsibility”..

Even an Obama “pollster” Joel Benenson, said that “Americans were clearly indicating that they believe that one of the biggest obstacles to progress on America’s toughest challenges -health care and energy independence- was the influence of special interests and corporate interest on the agenda in Washington”. Benensen’s boo-hoo baloney about “health care and energy independence” aside, the “toughest challenge” is the “obstacles” put in place by the liberal politicians and their new plans to try to socialize anything and everything.

In “Bracing for a bailout backlash”, we read that, “Obama, a product of Harvard Law School (allegedly) who calls upscale Hyde Park (thanks Tony Rezko!) in Chicago home, has shown little inclination to strike a more populist tone”.. Michael Kazin of Georgetown University says, “There’s not really a sense of what the solution is, there’s a potential for a ‘damn everybody in power’ kind of sentiment..”

“Damn everybody in power”? On the surface that appears to be an excellent idea but at the rate the Obama liberals are being handcuffed and hoosegowed, in a very short amount of time, there won’t be anybody left to “damn”.. Thank God..

  1. Family,

Be advised that the CPAC convention for 2010 will be held in Washington D.C. between February 18-20.

I will be attending, I will be attempting to make contacts relative to publishing and/or syndication.

If the price is within reason, I may also have an “exhibitors” booth. If so I will be coming up with NLTZ merchandise. has the information relative to the event.

It will be a crucial time as it will be the run up to the mid-term election.

I will try to figure out how to “host” a NLTZ “event” of some kind if enough NLTZ family members end up attending.

Keep this in mind. I hope that everyone can make it.

Never give up, never give in and never again!

    Thanks as always,

  2. Arthur Nankervis

G’day Larry and all NLTZ devotees,

I have said this before (and I truly hope that this is the last time) that for me, things are becoming more confusing by the day. I say confusing in the sense that I truly cannot understand how and why the American people are being brushed aside .. and I hesitate to say “without a fight” for I know these are difficult times and it is nigh on impossible being heard over the wall of effluent rushing down the hill.

It seems that the real problems that face the current administration and more importantly, the American people, are being answered by ridiculous statements, unworkable fixes and ill placed blame designed to take the people’s focus off the real problems. It is as if I am watching all this through the eyes of a drowning man for whom time has slowed down, his whole life has flashed before his eyes, he is reaching out for help and none is forthcoming. And yet, his own suggestions on how he should and can be helped are ignored. There are those well meaning people who have plunged into the murky waters and are trying their best to keep the man afloat, but sadly, these bravehearts are being pushed away by those wielding the gaffs of government (not a Plugs Biden gaffe) and are themselves, in danger of going under.

I realise that this is a rather quaint way of expressing my views and one would not be far wrong in surmising that maybe I am just a litle pixelated (Mr. Deeds Goes To Town with Gary Cooper). However, when I read American history and of all the heroes of a glorious past, their reincarnation into an unwritten present and further on to an unknown future (where I believe a Shining City awaits), I am immediately drawn to characters who have shown that no matter how difficult or overwhelming the problem, they always found a way to overcome, which for some, were insurmountable adversities. Having a military background, I am always drawn to those military men who displayed not just valour when confronting the enemy, but whose convictions in the face of almost constant ridicule, defamation, jealousy, character assassination and in some cases, confronting and turning aside the inability of many to comprehend the sheer genius. I am most particularly drawn to General George S. Patton and have studied and admired his ways for many years. On armoured warfare strategy he was lightyears beyond his own U.S. contemporaries, just as he was beyond his enemies in Erwin Rommel and Heinz Guderian and although he paid dues to Rommel in saying “I have read your book” he had written on that very same subject years previously. Patton distrusted politicians, had scant regard for the tactics and strategies employed by more senior allied commanders, including Eisenhower and Montgomery. He was proven to be correct, but eventually, paid with his life for his knowledge and secrets on the ineptitude of these allied commanders.

My point here is: Should we be thrashing around and organising ‘tea parties’ and ‘surround them’ protests? Should we be trying to amalgamate the various ideals of various Conservative front runners with the hope that something or someone will emerge and seize the day? Or, should we now seek and identify the reincarnation of old Blood and Guts and get behind that single entity with the idea of more than just seizing the day in 2010/2012? It wasn’t all that long ago when conservatives, independants and Americans in general, got behind such a man .. Ronald Reagan. I’m sure Reagan distrusted politicians, just as he distrusted big government as well as having scant regard for the Liberal opposition and their policies. Other likenesses in Patton’s and Reagan’s modus operandi would probably be difficult to find, but both men had the one central theme of ‘America and Americans can win over any adversity’ and both could hold a ‘jutting jaw’ stance and beckon any disbelievers to have a go at ‘planting one on the kisser’. Can anyone identify this man at the moment?

Larry, you could probably put what I have written here into a few lines, such being your way with words. I sure hope you can. I think we all are trying to find a way to get the dissenters (who by now must be in the majority) to come together under one strong and disciplined leader and march on Washington, figuratively or physically to pull America and as a consequence, the world, out of the muck and mire.

Lastly, Being only a cousin, I have taken the liberty at encapsulating myself as part of the whole ‘we’. I hope that this does not offend and make my comments any less valid.

    My very best to all

  3. I agree with you Arthur. It’s time to find and get behind our collective voice of conservatism and traditional values. Who will rise out of the ashes of the biggest mistake this country has ever made… to lead?
Perhaps our “call to arms” should be in the form of a WANT AD. A campaign blitz like no other….bought and paid for by the AMERICAN PEOPLE….who say without equivocation….WE the PEOPLE have had ENOUGH!
    Anyone care to comment?

  4. Larry,

Your giving me a reason to actually want to go to D.C. Are you going to announce your candidacy for 2010 and clean house?

  5. Arthur,

Check the “Thought Of The Day”.. I decided to get a little long winded relative to your question.

I just decided to put it over there.

Let me know what you think.

  6. Rayne,

Check the Thought Of The Day. Tell me what you think.

  7. Joel,

“Cleaning” Washington reminds me of my oven. It has a setting called “self-clean”.

Washington CANNOT be cleaned from the inside.

Washington CAN be cleaned from the outside.

Once the “silent majority” has had enough, they will “self-clean” until such time as the public stops paying attention again. Then it is back to the status quo.

No, my CPAC journey is to try to corner enough of the “imporatnt people” and to try to get one or two to take notice for just a few minutes.

It’s another step in the “self promotion” campaign. No one else is going to do it for me.

    Thanks as always,

  8. Larry:

God your creative with words. I think the silent majority has either been brainwashed or in a coma with hardly any chance of waking up. I forgot to ask you in the previous comment. What is the search keyword for stitch on youtube? I saw it in one of your comments but, I can’t find it anymore.

  9. Joel,

    Thanks as always,

  10. Family,

The “uncut” or “directors cut” of this article which will in the third NLTZ book, will have the following paragraphs:

After all, AIG is nearly eighty percent “owned” by the federal government. The FDIC has an $85 billion dollar stake, a secured credit facility. The FDIC can, as part of the agreement, “suspend dividends to previously issued common and preferred stock”. Dividends out, bonuses in? Since the Obama administration “got their wish” as far as another step towards the total nationalization of American business, how did the “bonus bonanza” happen?

Was it the typical Obama government incompetence or was it done with the approval of the class separationists that are now spinning like Whirling Dervishes to cover themselves? Neither option is particularly palatable..

Let us not forget that AIG spent $440,000 on a “lavish retreat”, $343,000 on an Arizona retreat and $86,000 on an English hunting trip AFTER the observant Obama oligarchs “bailed” them out. Obama, incompetent or accessory, you decide..

  11. Ditto.
I said much the same thing in my daily rant.

    Sultan Obama’s days are coming.
Keep in mind, only 30-40% of Americans label themselves as “Demokrats”.
Obama won by mesmerizing lots of Independents with Hope and Change.
They thought he might, “change lanes”.
Now that they see this guy isn’t even on the road, he’s off in some corn field somewhere (with no clue where he is or where he’s going),
they ARE coming over to side.
“Hope and Change” translates to “Ropes and Chains” once Socialism digs in its claws.
The day is almost here when His Majesty will get boo’d wherever he shows his face, and maybe even get some “change” tossed at him.

Arthur, I have taught martial arts to students from every continent (except Antarctica), and they always say what a great country this is and how glad they are to be here.
And I tell them all the same thing: this is a great country because you are here.
There is a difference between people who come here for opportunity, and those here for handouts.

America is a place in the head and in the heart.
Most people who come here from other countries are much more “American” than these lazy-ass bastards sucking middle-class dry on welfare.

  12. “That is the goal of the Obama ghouls, deflect that anger away from the liberals who have endorsed, sanctioned and approved this “irresponsibility”…… but we’re not fallin for it anymore! I truly do believe “we surround them”….go to Go to go to JOIN a group in your area as there truly is strength in numbers. Americans are fired up right now and we must not let that fire go out!

I’ll be recouperating from my surgery on 3/19 for six weeks. I plan to spend that time learning all I can (I have the 5000 Year Leap and Atlas Shrugged to begin with) and making an absolute PEST of myself to my so-called “Representatives”. They need to know…WE SURROUND THEM!

Another great article Larry! You’re part of my education too 😉
    Never give in!!
    Never give up!!

  13. Boy do I ever agree with the article and the comments, especially those by Arthur and the response by Rayne. As a new 2nd Lt. I went for McArthur as a role model. Later on I decided Patton had it right “Make the other bastard die for his country”. Where are the leaders like that? The core here must spread like a virus to the mainstream. The general public has been dumb down for so many years There may be no recourse other than the military taking over. The slow take over of education started long ago. In 1954 I was consoled that I should join the NEA because I was a student at a state teachers college. My response was “that is a Communist organization” When I graduated I had one offer of a job. I wonder why. This is a war and we need to round up as many like minded people as fast as we can. W@here we go in the next few years is going to determine the future of this country for eons of time.

  14. Fly the Culpepper Minuteman flag…

    Learn how to shoot…

Arthur, we are going down without a fight and there is not much time left. People need to wake up to what is truly happening in this country. We need to pray and we need to listen to what God is trying to tell us. The message from God to man can be found buried with this nations founding fathers.

It’s not just about the economy as they already have the money. Next they take free speech to silence their critics (they already have the media) and then they will take our guns (as they need to protect us from ourselves). With that third strike we, the vast majority are slaves to the vastly wealthy few.

    Wise up fast comrades…

  15. Considering the fact ALL liberals are incompetent, I am not surpised that this what they reward.

  16. Family,

OK, I can’t resist, here is another installment for the third NLTZ book on this article:

(These are known as teasers, gang..)

Or should Obama thank Chrid Dodd? (L-Conn.) (should be “con”) Dodd “Kerry’d” or “Obamaed”, Monday night after last months inclusion of the “executive compensation restriction”. Now he wants to “tax” the bonuses as all good liberals do. The problem is that his handy work from last month exempts the bonuses he wants to tax.. Surprised? Guess who are the two biggest beneficiaries of AIG’s political contributions: Chris Dodd and Barack Obama. Obama, incompetent or accessory, you decide..

    Thanks as always,

  17. I think they are incompetent accessories.

  18. Larry,

Exactly. As you say the “silent majority” having enough, will clean Washington. I can only pray that they will wake up in time to get their rubber gloves on soon enough before irreparable damage is done to our country.

I’ve talked with (at?) people about the pork in the stimulus and omnibus bills and they look at me as though I were short, pale, had large eyes and antennas on my head.

I know there are the politically stupid “Silent Majority”, but it is the numbers of the “I Don’t Care” group that I worry will do even greater harm.

  19. Washington kinda reminds me of a movie I once saw….”Let me see your birth certificate!”….”I’m sorry, I can’t do that, Dave…..”

  20. Margaret in CT

Thanks for your sober thinking on AIG, Larry. Am I supposed to get excited about AIG when Franklin Delano Raines received some $90 million for papering the walls with bad mortgages at Fannie Mae? The odious Jamie Gorelick scooped up $26 million over six years in a mere vice chariman’s position at Fannie Mae. These two “bonus babies” have yet to get their true comeuppance. And they never will.

    B. Frank’s bloviating on the subject of AIG is nauseating. David Axelrod says we have “enormous” problems. Libs always think that once they describe something as enormous, nothing more is needed. It is the ENORMITY of what they are doing that is the real problem.

  21. Joe wrote… I can only pray that they will wake up in time to get their rubber gloves on soon

Don’t say that too loud because Barney will get excited.

  22. Family,

Now ACORN will be “assisting” with the census.

    1.4 million “volunteers” are needed.

    “Gerrymandering 101”

Every 10 minutes this socialist regime does something else.

I could literally write 3,000 words a day on these thieves.

Check both sites, folks. Don’t wait for the subscription announcements to go to your email box.

With these worms, I will be at least another story along..

Don’t take your eyes off of them.

  23. Georgia Dawg

Who wouldn’t pay Barney a severance package to waddle off in search of his next back door buckaroo?
You hit ol Barn smack in the Brokeback Love Fest Disco dance-off for bodily movements and
rhythmic ball balancing ‘root’-tine , and you know ol Barn will come out on top.
    Love the article….

  24. Opps I hit a button and it posted.

I worked for about a year in the Contracts Department for AT&T, Worldnet Division and our Company always placed an out clause. They always placed an out in every Contract that should there be a problem or issue, they could say no thanks. I also worked in Contracts for a Local Country, where clause were placed so that if any non-profit agency failed to meet their terms, the Country could pull their funding.

So, for me there has to be a Contract clause in these so-called Executive contracts. If they didn’t, I believe that would constitute malpractice by government and AIG lawyers. I don’t believe all government workers are stupid, corrupt and ignorant. So, I’m having a hard time believing that they had to stay within the guards of the original contract.

Slow down Larry, the material won’t suddenly dry up. You could make yourself crazy or ill, I know a lot about the latter.

  27. beyond disgusted

All this faux outrage is pathetic, at best. Sadly, too many morons in this country will eat it all up and fall for yet another ruse.

This is what we’re up against, folks.

You’re right Larry, an endless supply of material.
I know it makes my head spin.

  28. Now, the unearthing of the Dodd Amendment to a spending Bill that authorized AIG to pay bonuses to their Executives. Where was the amendment placed, which Bill? Anyone here know? If it was in the Stimulus bill, when Obama, Pelosi and Reid didn’t give anyone time to read it or place it up on the website for his promised campaign rhetoric of 5 days so the public can read. This didn’t happen because they said it was an “emergency”. Yet, he held off signing it over that weekend and flew to Colorado to the pomp and circumstance, the bright lights of Hollywood wailing in the background, a staged farce.

Every day some new wrinkle or mess up suddenly appears. Does anyone know if a recall vote is allowed involving the President?

Well as of this moment, I want to remove Dodd, Franks, Pelosi, Reid, and any other fast talking elected con man or woman.

The errors made by George Bush cannot touch the slime and dirt from these jerks. They are all lawyers so when they did this stuff, they knew they were breaking the law, as Bill Clinton style also knew. The public needs to demand accountability no questions asked they refuse, then we request a special election to fill the vacate seat, and will be vacate.

I’m so angry right now; my hands are shaking because I’m enraged over all of this crap. We have to do something and soon before they bankrupt our Country and sell us to the Chinese government.

Obama, his friends and cohorts no one believed his mock outrage, except for the idiots who voted for him. We’ve certainly learned a new lesson, a black liberal Democrats is just as incompetent as a white liberal Democrat.

  29. Arthur,

I agree with you. In a time when we need a real life John Wayne (hefty, hefty, hefty) all that seems to be showing up are a bunch of Barney Fifes (wimpy, wimpy, wimpy). Even Bobby Jindal (whom I like) seems to have misplaced his balls somewhere along the way. But who predicted that a Sarah Palin was just around the corner before the Repub Convention? Had traitor RINO McCain not muzzled the Alaskan pitbull we’d be saying to ourselves right now “Obama who?” As much as I can’t stand liberals I haven’t for one minute forgotten that it was the Neville Chamberlain Republicans that really threw our country under the bus. This country is under seige and they were stupid enough to play nice! And they haven’t learned a thing yet either! Micheal Steele can kiss my a**! You wanna kill babies? You wanna be a lib? You go play for the other team then Mikey! Thanks, but no thanks. No jellyfish allowed in this swimmin’ pool! I don’t want that kind of leadership!

On the other hand maybe this is what this country needs for a little while. Let the pot simmer for a while and we’ll get a better stew. We’ll get a hero sooner or later. He or She IS out there. America is the land of heroes. Or maybe God’s got in mind to put a pint or two of hero’s blood in the whole bunch of us when the time is right.

This may yet be “Our finest hour.” All for one and one for all!

    TTYL Chris.

  30. The trouble with the American people ‘cleaning house’, or ‘voting the bums out’, is that you always get another politician.

Even if you find a guy who believes the same as you on everything, which is astronomically unlikely, (Consider John McCain),
the chances that he would continue to agree with you on everything, after getting elected, are astronomically unlikely.
(Whew! I guess that was a compound, complex sentence. Har!)

I believe that our politicians and the press hold this idea in front of us to distract us from the real problem.

That Republicans and Democrats, invariably increase the size and scope and intrusiveness of government.

You may remember Clinton saying ‘The era of big government is over.

So I joined a group which is non-partisan, not by-partisan, whose only thrust is to reduce the size and intrusiveness of government.

    It is

We are drinking from the same tinnie cobber. Exactly my sentiments and why I was looking for a military man of a Non-Politician Hero. I do like Palin however, not Bobby Jindal (eyes too close together – and my Mum warned of that). But what an exciting day it would be if an everyday kind of hero strode into GOP HQ, drove his lance into the polished wooden floor and declared “I’m taking over! Follow me!”

  33. Arthur Nankervis

    Larry and Family,

Whilst you blokes and sheilas are in bed, I knocked up the following

Talking of Placing The Blame & Fairness

In following a ‘Click Here’ redirection from a article: “The Trouble with Obama’s New Deal” at: I end up at:,8599,1884571,00.html (a Time CNN site). Scrolling down that article I find access to another article entitled “See 25 people to blame for the financial crisis” Clicking on that link, I come to:,28804,1877351_1877350,00.html (another Time CNN site) and find the article “25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis.” This article provides a brief bio on 25 people that an ‘unknown author’ considers as being “Blameworthy” for the economic mess. I have clicked through the 25 names and find that I know of a few of the more prominent characters, but am at a loss with the rest. Going on some very early advice from a NLTZ family member, I know that Time CNN should be avoided like the plague. Therefore, in presenting those 25 names (in order of perceived blame) as presented and saving family from clicking through the list, I ask: Is this a fair and just effort at placing the blame where it belongs, or is it simply an effort at distorting the facts for a select liberal audience? As stated, the article shows no author and is undated. List follows:

    1. Phil Gramm
    2. Chris Cox
    3. Angelo Mozilo
    4. Joe Cassano
    5. Frank Raines
    6. Kathleen Corbet
    7. Ian McCarthy
    8. Bernie Madoff
    9. Dick Fuld
    10. Marion and Herb Sandler
    11. Stan O’Neal
    12. John Devaney
    13. Sandy Weill
    14. Jimmy Cayne
    15. George W. Bush
    16. American Consumers
    17. Alan Greenspan
    18. Hank Paulson
    19. David Lereah
    20. Lew Ranieri
    21. David Oddsson
    22. Fred Goodwin
    23. Bill Clinton
    24. Wen Jiabao
    25. Burton Jablin

(I have moved my name way down and out of the way – I aint’ takin’ no blame) As stated by Jethro in the first episode of The Beverly Hillbillies when asked by Jed: “Why there was no (weather) ice in ‘Californie’? replied: “Don’t look at me, I didn’t take it!”

  34. Ken in Baghdad

Shelby Steele has outlined the conservative challenge in today’s world perfectly in his recent column in the Wall Street Journal “Why the GOP Can’t Win With Minorities.”

The Repubican Party needs an authentic conservative leader who can translate Steele’s concepts into everyday language for the “aggrieved focussed.” The Democrats give us all the ammunition we need, e.g., eliminating funding for an extremely successful school choice progam in D.C.

A true conservative who can fashion Steele’s ideas into hard core life experiences will win the allegiance of a siginifcant share of minorities and will prove to be the popular choice for us old white men, too.

Electing a ‘moderate” black to the RNC isn’t going to do it.

  35. Margaret in CT

Poor little tweety-pie Dodd. As if the demokrats and their komrades don’t have enough to worry about in trying to wrest cash from greedy wage earners, “someone” between the Senate floor and Committee “changed the language” that Dodd put into the Skimulous Package so that bonuses contracted for before Feb 11, 2009 were protected.

Let me get this straight, now. With all the tumult that has been kicked up about bonuses in the past six months, Dodd felt it necessary to write into the bill that no bonuses could be given. Then someone who didn’t receive a $103,000 bonus from AIG thought it would be good idea to change the language and protect precontracted bonuses. Makes all the sense in the world, doesn’t it?

The stink rising from Washington has just been enhanced by the smell coming from Dodd’s burning backside. Liar, liar, pants on fire, tweety bird!

  37. I believe that even the street bums, winos, mentally challenged, and those less than legal voters who followed the ACORN “Pied Pipers” to the polls in exchange for their drugs of choice are getting a whole new perspective on our leader. The Tea Party is a good thing…you don’t need a computer, cell phone or any new techno contraption to share your outrage. Just good ol’ fashioned demonstrations with “sign in hand.”
    Find one and participate!

  38. The slide of hand is already happening regarding “gun control.” Durbin held a hearing yesterday pretending to be concerned about the uptick of violence on the Mexican border between the Cartels and the Mexican authorities (that was a stretch). It was so obvious his only objective was to discuss the weapons being sold across the border….wasn’t much interested in the drug problem. Was having a very difficult time keeping the witnesses on message. “Can we please just talk about the guns?”

  39. The stink over the AIG bonuses are just a dodge by Obama and crew. The democrats have now all thrown their little hissys in order to make themselves look good rather than the lying bastards they are.

The real problem going is where all the taxpayer’s money went in bailouts. $20 billion to banks around the world, $13 billion to Goldman Sachs? The government is trying to cover this all up.

That democrat crowd in Washington is working to aim the public’s anger towards the CEOs, which granted are greedy a88holes with no morals, but if all the truth were known we’d be be aiming just as much if not more anger at their liberal politician and regulator rear ends.

AIG should be brought back into private hands as soon as possible, taking out of federal nationalization. If the Treasury and the feds want to continue bailing out failing foreign banks, let them make that the case honestly and openly with the American people, not behind our backs by siphoning it through their “nationalized” firm.

  40. blue state blues- RWG

Only you and Glen Beck have put this whole sham in proper perspective. For the most part, the rest of the world is missing the big picture.

I posted the following sentiments to you last article. I am posting it again because I posted late last night and I feel the need to purge myself again of the bile I am feeling over the greatest heist in history of the world. My appologies to those who have already seen it. Here goes:

Neil Cavuto opened his show with a scene from the movie Moon Struck where Cher’s character slaps Nick Cage’s character across the face and says sternly and loudly, “Wake up”!! He then cuts to Liberal Democrats threatening all kinds of action over the $165 million dollar bonus package that AIG gave it’s derivatives traders. So, for sure, some Libs are waking up and other are just faking outrage.

Folks, as far as I am concerned, we are witnessing the biggest heist in the history of the world. While the MSM and the vaudevillian Democrats like Schumer, Frank and Obama, feign outrage over the $165,000,000 that got paid out by AIG, $1,200,000,000,0000 went out the back door to God knows where. They are using the $165 mill as a ruse to divert our attention from the fact that we just got fleeced for hundreds of billions. AIG alone sent $66 Billion dollars to European banks. In the front door and out the back.

Where’s the damn Budget and Accounting office. If this were a bank robbery and the bandits got away with $1 million we would have 1000 FBI agents, 500 ATF agents, and 1000 assorted other law enforcement people all over it.

Now Schumer wants to tax the recipients of the AIG bonus at 100% to teach them a lesson. What are we………..stupid. That is never gonna happen and it shouldn’t happen and he knows it.

The fact is that AIG and other banks should have been allowed to become insolvent. Filing bankruptcy would have protected assets during a reorganization. Then, if the Democrats were really so anxious to provide a rescue, the Fed could have become the Stalking Horse in the bankruptcy and purchased all the assets for a lot less then it cost us to buy 90% of AIG. The bankruptcy would have also voided the lucrative contracts that just cost us $165 million.

That would have been the right thing to do. But that would have put a bankruptcy judge and whole friggin army of accountants into the picture. NOT something the Dems wanted. They don’t want anybody following this money trail. Oh they’ll throw us a bone and pretend to be outraged by the $165 million. But what happened to the hundreds of billions?? It’s gone and no one is answering.

  41. blue states,

That’s what I, inadequately, was trying to say. Obama, Pelosi and Geither are pulling a bait and switch with the “drop in the bucket” bonus money and the invisible big money.

  42. Arthur,

Did you see the latest “Thought Of The Day”, it was written due to the motivation of your comment from above.

    Thanks, cobber.

I hope that I can live up to those standards.

  44. Hello. 🙂

I was invited by Irisheye2C to join.

So far, I’m liking what I’m reading.

  45. Hi Eileen.

  46. blue state blues- RWG

I think you said it pretty well. I’m glad you covered the back door payments to Goldman and Merrill from AIG. Nice job Joe.

It’s money laundering done on a massive scale. Goldman and Merrill got stimulus money and then AIG laundered another $25 billion to them. The question is, who the hell is orchestrating this massive heist? Gee, let me think.

  47. Welcome Anne from PA. Glad to see you finallly.

  48. Blues well said my friend, well said.

I hear your outrage and it matches mine. The Country is no longer buying the illusion it seems even though the MSM is desperate to find another outlet to blame. Their mock outrage is so obvious a phony gesture, and like the way they deal with government issues are really bad, horrible actors; they pretty much fail at everything. There certainly no Oscar’s coming for Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Schumer, Dodd or Frank coming down the pike. I’m sure at this point the public would like to hit the liberals over the head with a statute though.

It does pay to read a Bill before signing it, and from what I read this morning and watched on Television that this Dodd Amendment was placed last minute in the almost 1 trillion Bill that Obama said was an “emergency” to save the Country and create jobs. It was so urgent that he waited 3 days to sign it.

Anyone stay up late to watch the farce on Leno? I was trying to figure out why he chose Leno instead of David Letterman. Then this morning I found my answer, Leno’s rating numbers are higher, and more people to con. Letterman is a die in the wool liberal, Leno is a conservative, and it’s his staffers who are liberal.

But, I did find something though, Obama seems to be campaigning. It’s the only thing he’s good at and raising campaign funds from Arab billionaires.

Well, heads will roll because a staffer placed the wrong speech on the teleprompter for Ireland PM meeting.

Do you want to start a bet on how long it will take for Obama to throw Geithner under the bus and fire his ass? Any takers?

  49. Sen. Chris Dodd (Idiot CT), all a thither said, “One way or another we’re going to figure out how to get all these resources back.” This being the same Sen. Chris Dodd who only a month ago made sure that these particcular bonuses were exempt from regulation in the stimulus bill.

This is also the same Sen. Chris Dodd that was the recipient of the most campaign cash from AIG at $103,000 in 2008. Beaten only by Barack Obama.

You have Obama pegged. He is a campaigner, always was, always will be. Style and rheroric drew the attention to him. (Who knows what brought him to the forefront.) But he has no ability to handle the job that I think he considers no more than a basketball game. (“I won.”) He recently told the press at a luncheon that he thought being the president was easy and said, “And I think I’m rather good at it.”

Not, however, according to the UK Telegraph quoting a source “close to members of the Obama inner-circle” as “expressing concern over the President.” “The president is overwhelmed”, The Telegraph reports the source as saying. “There is zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor in the national security agenda.” In other words, Obama can’t, at the same time, add two plus two and at the same time realize there are scum in this world that want to behead all of us. I’ve got problems with multi-tasking but, damn!

Our “Man in Black” is sitting there in power having an “easy” time yet reportedly “facing exhaustion over America’s economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs.” Sitting in the chair at the White House being “rather good at” making decisions that will affect not only Americans but people all around the globe. It sounds like this black boob is on an ego trip of self love.

I predict that when Obama’s ecomomic stimulus plan(s?) fail domestically, he will attempt to shoehorn reality into his dogmatic socialistic world-veiw. Internationally, he will assume a posture of weakness and begin negotiating for peace from there.

  50. Joe,

Obama is a narcissist and when he was elected to the US Senate and was asked would he run for President? At that time, 2005, he said I just got elected to the Senate, now why would I run for President. Those 142 days changed his mind. He once said I wouldn’t put my name out if he didn’t think I couldn’t do it. Well, the proof in the pudding seems to think he cannot. Failure is an option for the Democrats. I do remember seeing him on Oprah selling his book and he actually spoke from his heart so that the audience would rush out to buy his book. 2/3 through the show Oprah asked him, Will you run for President? The audience cheered and clapped wildly. He said I haven’t decided. This was the first time I had ever heard about him. He’s mostly known in just Illinois.

I’ve thought about that appearance (the book about his father) and now think it was a way for Oprah to introduce him to the World. Very calculating move on both their parts. Gee, I wonder where all his supporters from Hollywood have gone, who gave the Democrats their debit cards? Did anyone hear from Clooney? Sean Penn? Steven Spielberg? Barbra Streisand? All those Bush haters who wailed about his incompetent, what a joke he was and a huge embarrassment to our Country to have elected this boob as President. They must be really busy to evade questions of their support for this current boob. Well, at least he got them to shut up, FINALLY! Hallelujah, thank you God! Silence is golden.

  51. 2012: Petraeus/Palin Here’s hoping the public will be starving for honesty, decency and truth.
    Naw…pipe dream.

  52. Eileen,

Obama is a narcissist. Much worse, he is a phsyc0pathic one as was Marx and Hitler.

That “book” was actually an assignment by his college to be written about politics. He ended up writing an auto-biography of himself.

I’ve noticed one thing of the insipid stars of la la land, whenever one of their own is in power their gaseous negativism is held in. Causing them to take more vacations so they may burp and fart freely without critisizm from rational people for having finally come to their senses.

By the way, one final thing on AIG. The congress’ grandstanding and getting back the $165 million in bonuses is a great thing money wise, but it’s just a ruse. As blue states has pointed out there are BILLIONS of dollars that have been laundered through AIG (from bailout money) and no one in congress or media is saying a damned thing about that. In getting back the 165 million it will still leave open the same option of overblown bonuses for other top execs. in other banks and firms. It doesn’t gain a thing because of the lack of regulation that Congress failed to include as a stipulation in the bailout, thanks in part to Sen. Chris Dodd and the pressure to rush it through Congress by Obama and Pelosi.
This is “feel good” BS our representatives are laying on us now and I ain’t buying it.

I think from the way the liberals are acting that whatever they are snorting, they’ve had their noses in it too long and actually think a million is bigger than a billion cause “m” is higher in the alphabet.

  53. Joe, I don’t believe the public is buying either. It’s all just bullshit.

And what they are trying to do now in to evoke legislation to tax these funds at 90%, funds that were approved by them. First, they don’t have the right to do that and second, it’s against the Constitution. It will eventually come up before the Supreme Court and they will over turn this law.

Today, I started thinking this as all just an elaborate hoax to raise everyone’s taxes. They want control over all financing, investments, bonds, etc to control how much is spent and on what. They want to control insurance, money, how children at taught, etc… Yet everything the touch turns into a lesson in incompetent. See children don’t let this happen to you. The republicans caused this and the democrats have to clean up the mess they left. This is a great lesson, a real world study on ever trusting a Republicans. Even some of those MSM, are actually dare I say critical of the Obama administration (yeah, I know… I was shocked, I fainted and needed smelling salts). They have to warn us when they going to criticize their liberal hero. Get the kids out of the room everyone. Anyone with high blood pressure or are susceptible to strokes or heart attacks please just leave the room. Even a pacemaker, I’m serious you need to leave the room NOW! All of it is nonsense. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

What I want to start doing is campaign against them, call them out. I’m going to research whether the public has a right to petition the Courts to either remove them, or recall petition. Start naming names of this convoluted mess. Expose their crimes against the American public. I’m still not sure if a sitting President can be recalled but we can push for his impeachment for treason. Work it all down the ladder of incompetents. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Dodd, Frank and on it goes. I’m thinking about creating a website to expose all of them. Put up a petition online for the public to sign up and demand they resign if they don’t want to, then start a petition for their removal.

  54. Eileen,

    Pure and simple…ie; SOCIALISM.

I have served and bled for my country. I will bleed again, or die, before it is taken away from me. I am a man of my word and deepest convictions.

  55. I just got this letter in my email from the Center for Individual Freedom. I hope the links still work once it is copied to this page. This is in regards to politicians acting outraged after the news broke about A.I.G.’s bonuses.

So, when are President Barack Obama and Senator Chris Dodd and others going to give back the “bonuses” they received from American International Group (AIG)?

By now, you know the story. After receiving another $170 billion bailout from the American taxpayer, AIG paid out $165 million in bonuses to its executives.

Almost immediately, the Obama Administration and liberals in Congress FEIGNED outrage. They even had the audacity to claim that they knew nothing about these bonuses.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi pontificated; “We want our money back now for the taxpayers.” Senator Charles Schumer ominously threatened AIG executives; “If you don’t return it on your own, we will do it for you.”

And in a matter of hours, the Pelosi-led House of Representatives passed a bill that would (in certain cases) tax 90 percent of the bonus money that is received from any company that has received at least $5 billion in bailout money.

Essentially, the Pelosi-led House of Representatives played the American people for fools and used our public outrage to set a dangerous and draconian precedent.

Furthering a socialist agenda, liberals in Congress basically asserted their authority to tax any individual (or group)… any amount… at any time… totally at their discretion… no reason need be given… if they don’t like you… that’s it.

And President Obama cheered them on. He called it “a strong signal to the executives who run these firms that such compensation will not be tolerated.”

But that’s not the end of the story. The hypocrisy here is staggering! Brody Mullins and T.W. Farnam with The Wall Street Journal put it rather mildly:

“Some of the most vocal critics of American International Group Inc.’s bonus payments are also the biggest recipients of campaign contributions from the company, including President Barack Obama and Senate Banking Chairman Christopher Dodd.”

It’s time to call these elected officials on the carpet for their hypocrisy! Since they claim with such self-righteous indignation that “we want our money back now for the taxpayers,” and that “such compensation will not be tolerated,” it’s time to tell Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama and Chris Dodd and Chuck Schumer to practice what they so sanctimoniously preach.

If they want to lead us down the road to socialism; let’s see how they like having to live under the spirit of the laws they pass.

President Obama’s $110,332.00 in campaign contributions from AIG… we want it back! Senator Dodd’s 281,038.00 in campaign contributions from AIG… we want it back! Senator Chuck Schumer’s $111,875.00 in campaign contributions from AIG… we want that back too!

We want it ALL back… every thin dime… and not just campaign contributions from AIG. The American people want every single dime of campaign contributions paid by any company presently receiving bailout money! We want it back NOW! We want it back TODAY!

Tim Geithner Made Me Do It.

When liberals in Congress and in the Administration feigned outrage, they also claimed they knew nothing about these bonuses.

But the truth of the matter is that they SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZED payment of these bonuses when they passed that shameful, sham of a stimulus bill.

You know what we’re talking about… the 1,100 page porkulous bill that was crafted in large part behind CLOSED DOORS by Pelosi and company… it was released around 11 PM at night… then placed on the floor for a vote hours later before anyone could conceivably hope to even read it.

The truth of the matter is that the fingerprints of liberals in Congress are all over this mess and the actions of Senator Dodd illustrate the hypocrisy all too well.

At first, Dodd, like everyone else, incredulously scratched his head. Like Sgt. Schultz, from the old television show Hogan’s Heroes, he knew nothing. You could almost hear him say, ‘these bonuses are outrageous… gosh, just how did those bonuses get in there?’

    On Tuesday, he told FOX News;

“When the language went to the conference and came back, there was different language. I can tell you this much, when my language left the Senate, it did not include it. When it came back, it did.”

Here’s what CNN had to say:

“Senate Banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd told CNN’s Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer Wednesday that he was responsible for adding the bonus loophole into the stimulus package that permitted AIG and other companies that received bailout funds to pay bonuses. On Tuesday, Dodd denied to CNN that he had anything to do with the adding of that provision.” [Emphasis Mine]

According to the National Republican Senatorial Campaign:

“Senator Dodd’s reversal on this issue is both astonishing and alarming. Contrary to his statements and denials over the last 24 hours, Senator Dodd has now admitted that he and his staff did in fact change the language in the stimulus bill to include a loophole for AIG executive bonuses.” [Emphasis Mine]

Flip Wilson, a popular comedian from the ‘60s and ‘70s used to say “the Devil made me do it.”

After getting caught, Dodd took a cue from Wilson’s book. His response? To paraphrase; ‘Geithner (Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner) made me do it.’

    FOX News again:

“In a dramatic reversal Wednesday, Sen. Chris Dodd confessed to adding language to a spending cap in the stimulus bill last month that specifically excluded executive bonuses included in contracts signed before the bill’s passage. Dodd, D- Conn., told FOX News that Treasury officials forced him to make the change.”

Some have suggested that the feigned outrage, the attempts to shift blame and the rush to penalize AIG executives is nothing more than a cover-up by liberals in Congress who do not want the American public to scrutinize too closely the role THEY played in this mess.

If that’s the case – and their fingerprints are all over this mess – liberals in Congress and President Obama can at least partially absolve themselves by doing what they are forcing on others.

Demand that they give THEIR AIG “bonuses” back. Every single dime… ALL of it!

    Quid Pro Quo?

The Wall Street Journal perhaps said it best:

“We’re not suggesting any quid pro quo, by the way. But the confluence of political donations, the near-collapse of the corporation and the amount of lobbying money that flows in and out of Congress as it makes decisions is something that has long been monitored.”

    According to the Center for Responsive Politics;

“In the last 20 years American International Group (AIG) has contributed more than $9 million to federal candidates and parties through PAC and individual contributions.”

Moreover, according to the Center for Responsive Politics:

“Last year AIG and its subsidiaries spent about $9.7 million on federal lobbying, or about $53,000 for every day Congress was in session in 2008.”

But that’s not all; the Center for Responsive Politics yet again:

“Twenty-eight current members of Congress reported owning stock in AIG in 2007, worth between $2.5 million and $3.3 million. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), one of the richest members of Congress, was by far the biggest investor in AIG, with stock valued around $2 million.”

According to the Center for Responsive Politics’s website (, here are the top ten recipients of AIG campaign contributions in Congress. For good measure, President Obama is included as well:

    Obama, Barack (D-Ill) $110,332
    Dodd, Chris (D-Conn) $281,038
    Schumer, Charles E (D-NY) $111,875
    McCain, John (R-Ariz) $99,249
    Baucus, Max (D-Mont) $90,000
    Kerry, John (D-Mass) $85,000
    Johnson, Nancy L (R-Conn) $75,400
    Sununu, John E (R-NH) $69,049
    Clinton, Hillary (D-NY) $61,515
    Lieberman, Joe (I-Conn) $57,900
    Rangel, Charles B (D-NY) $53,582

There are many others who got lesser amounts. Is there a quid pro quo at play here? We leave that to you to decide.

Jonathan Carl with ABC News perhaps asks the most relevant questions:

“This raises two key questions: Was any bailout money used to make political contributions? And will the politicians who received AIG cash give the money back?”

    Will they give it back?

You CAN MAKE THEM GIVE IT BACK by making your voice heard right now! These politicians in Washington need to know that they can’t pull the wool over the eyes of the American people!
