Right For All The Wrong Reasons

I often feel compelled to research and chart the number of times that the word “historic” has been used to describe both the ridiculous Democratic candidacies and the election of 2008. The only “historic” references of any consequence were the truth of any importance to anyone, is the one that never appears within the “impartial” media. I am referring to the “historic” (unconstitutional) efforts to supersede capitalism with socialism or “choice” which is being replaced with “fascist fiats”..

Another fateful step in that Democratic direction is the Obama push, a “historic blow against smoking in America..” (“Historic vote could bring new limits” My Way News) The undertow of this latest attack against “choice”, this latest step outside of the boundaries of actual governmental responsibility has the usual cornucopia of ulterior motives attached..

We learn that “the measure would not only cut deaths but reduce the $100 billion in annual health care costs linked to tobacco..” I will wager that soon Obama will claim that he has “saved” 100 billion dollars within his “top priority” hogwash health care hysteria. This “claim” will be as verifiable as his “saved jobs” sophistry..

“Smoking kills about 400,000 people in the United States every year.” “About”? Is this yet another pristine example of the “Obama/Geithner Turbo Tax math”? Is this similar to Pelosi claiming that her “assets” were worth “between $25.1 million and $84.4 million last year”? Are they claiming that every death due to heart disease and lung cancer is strictly attributable to smoking? These numbers allegedly come from the CDC but if they make for a comfortable fit with the Obama ulterior motives, then they are golden..

In case the Obama oligarchs haven’t figured this out yet, if you eat nothing but the “right” things, if you obsessively work out, don’t smoke, don’t drink.. you are going to get sick and die someday. Ask Jim Fixx..oh you can’t. The running guru dropped dead while jogging..

This smoking “regulation” is simply the greasing of the rails for the “regulation” of every other consumable product by the “take over” minded liberal fascists. When they manage to “regulate the content, marketing and advertising of cigarettes and other tobacco products” it is but an easy step to utilize this totalitarian template when “regulating” any other consumable commodity that the liberals find to be socially unacceptable or politically vulnerable..

In 2000, “the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the agency did not have the authority under current law to regulate tobacco products..” Fast forward to 2008, “change” the law.. The “law” was bent, fractured and flat out disregarded relative to the Obama incursions into the banking, housing and the automotive industries so tobacco should be no different. The liberals have the apparent superpower that allows them to ignore any “law” that they do not wish to obey. They are sanctimonious socialists on a “mission” to “think for you and to do what is best for you whether you like it or not.”

This “legislation” gives the FDA the “power to evaluate the contents of tobacco products and to order changes or bans on those that are a danger to public health”.. Will the FDA please expand its “authority” and “ban” the Obama destruction of capitalism and his blatant disregard of the Constitution? I find both totalitarian traits to be “a danger to public health”..

“Costs of the new program would be paid for through a fee imposed on tobacco companies”. Allow me to complete that: “..who will pass this fee onto their consumers..” The liberal Congress has already raised the taxes on cigarette packs an additional sixty-two cents this year to $1.01 a pack. This tax on cigarettes placed into the hands of the liberal do-gooders has gone to “fund a health care program for children..” What happened to the “revenues” from cigarettes reducing “the $100 billion in annual health care costs linked to tobacco..”? Nope, there must have been an “opportunity” to nab some easy votes for rescuing “the children” so the cigarette tax needed to be “redirected” to some imaginary “crisis”..

Even weepy “Dick” “Turban” Durbin had something to say on the matter, “This bill will protect children and it will protect America..” There you have it. The liberals know about as much about “protecting America” as they do about individual hygiene.. This bill will “protect America” as effectively as the treaty that they yearn to sign with North Korea and Iran will..

Since Obama insists upon taking this role as the “at least half white knight”, will he continue to uphold the illegality of marijuana which is addictively consumed by every liberal lunatic Obama voter alive? (Their incessant use of mind altering drugs goes a long way towards explaining their particular psychosis..) Will “scientists” like Al Gore be studying the carcinogenic properties of marijuana? Will “personal production” infringe upon the Obama governmental monopoly, which would threaten the exorbitant taxes that would be levied upon the liberal’s favorite weed? Will the “dangers relative to the unregulated consumption of ungovernmentally approved and properly pasteurized marijuana poses to the public” take precedence over the liberal party’s voting base? Can the unemployed/homeless liberal voting base somehow afford the “Obama weed” without a federal subsidy? Will collateral crime skyrocket relative to the progressive price?

This is another assault upon “choice”. The scariest part about allowing “choice” from the liberals disjointed (couldn’t resist..) perspective is that it involves allowing people to be “grown ups”. Liberalism at its base involves reinforcing and enabling individual and group infantilism. The liberals and their “government” HAVE to make the “choices” for their constituents since they have essentially incubated a sub culture of intellectual infants.

Protecting people from their “bad choices” basically lengthens the existence of someone who might be sorely needed in heaven.. No matter how hard the liberals try, they cannot legislate away stupidity but they can legislate stupidly.. Enter Barack Obama.. They cannot legislate “risk” out of everyone’s life as well. That is their posturing pretense, “control” is their goal..

Bungee jumping poses very serious and obvious “health risks”. There is no “federal oversight”, no “Bungee-Czar”. (Yet..) Every day “grown ups” using their own logic and contemplation make the “choice” to take this “unnecessary risk”.. The free market Bungee jumping companies “govern” themselves, frequent accidents involving patrons would have the employees of the company standing in the Obama unemployment line rather quickly. Jumpers enjoy their hobby and they understand the risks. MommyObammie should concern himself with other actual pressing matters like his 1,600,000 and counting job destruction program..

This is NOT about “health care”. It is about “control” and it is all about limiting “choice”. When did “choice” become limited to the systematic slaughter of the unborn and the extermination of the elderly and the infirm? I know, it was on November 4, 2008.. Years of making the “choice” of smoking “socially unacceptable” has made this totalitarian transition relatively easy. After this “victory”, it will be on to sugar, red meat and maybe another crack at the Eighteenth Amendment. Come to think of it, as long as Biden is the Vice President I don’t think that that last portion will come to fruition..

When I find myself defending the “choice” (not a right) to smoke it makes me feel wrong for all of the right reasons. The Obama caliphate and their war on nicotine (ulterior motive: control..) makes them right for all the wrong reasons..

  1. Larry, as I stated earlier, the “Obamatron” wants to eventually control every nuance of our lives.

Many of us in the family are concerned with our health choices, so it doesn’t surprise me in the least that the Codex bill is trying reassert itself, by decreeing–if passed–that all herbal supplements, vitamins, minerals and other natural substances, i.e., colloidial silver (which kills 99% of all pathogens & viruses–including the HIV virus), will either be illegal and unfit for human consumption, or else must be prescribed by a physician–which, of course, will raise the costs tremendously to the “patient” (see Germany & Belgium for examples).

Just another way for the Gubment to grab more of our hard-earned money!

Larry; j9 The name ‘Cobber’ is a winner. At birth, I was nicknamed ‘Jock’ after my Uncle’s dog (purebred Fox Terrier). It stuck until I left Technical College (a grandiose name for a Trade-School). So, I’m sure ‘Cobber’ won’t mind being given the name derived from OZ slang meaning ‘a true & trusted (human) friend’. j9, I have taken both your’s and Larry’s advice. The Choco (#) will be retired.

Larry, a well thought out article, You have probably held these beliefs long before Obama was immaculately conceived. You argue on the side of logic and I will not attempt to respond with any form of lofty idealism. Just personal experiences.

    Smoking:
On the surface, a rather innocuous subject and yet, when bundled with the individual’s ‘freedom of choice’, it becomes anything but a harmless pastime.

I did buy one pack of cigarettes when I was just out of school, had a few puffs and gave the rest away (trying to show the mates just how much of a grown-up I had become). There were no restrictions on smoking whatsoever in those days (late 50’s) and there was no such thing as asking the mates ‘not to light-up’. I’m not sure if you could call it ‘freedom of choice’ or if it was simply because no precedence had been set within any societal group. I am inclined to think that as ‘smoking’ was the ‘in’ thing in all facets of daily life and promoted as such 50+ years ago, there was never any thought of “Bugger you mate, I’ll smoke when and where I like” – because it was the accepted norm. When I joined the army (probably the closest life experience to socialism), I and all my new cobbers, soon found out that we (I had given it up at age 14) couldn’t smoke whenever we liked. We were ‘told’ when to smoke “Smoke if you have em’, those who don’t, go through the actions.” I must admit, smokers were quite ingenious in their efforts at keeping the ‘durries’ dry and hiding their ‘illicit’ actions when on duty. In Malaysia, Sarawak, Vietnam (and places bordering), those skills were honed to a fine art. Smoking was a big ‘killer’ in SVN as the VC & NVA had no restrictions on their combatants smoking on the move, at night or at any other time. We encouraged them to smoke as they were easy targets, particularly in a night ambush situation. We could smell and see them coming – ‘Double Tap’ – We saved many of them years of discomfort and a lingering death.

For me, the term ‘Freedom of Choice’ brings with it more headaches than there are packets of Tylenol on grocery shop shelves. Freedom of Choice to smoke, Freedom of Choice to drink, Freedom of Choice to elect abortions. …. I’m sure a smoker can find a wedge to drive between the arguments of those categories, just as I can say “Well, a whiskie now and again won’t hurt.” Pro-abortionists are experts at soft shoe shuffling. Bungee jumpers probably sign a contract that waives any claim against injury or death. Now, there’s an idea.

Archeologists and other sciences trying to find a link between Man & Monkey have got our ancestors living in caves. (The search is off by the way as they need look no further than the White House, the links have overrun the place). Family groups, huddled together in what I would imagine to be rather difficult times are sure to have had problems at some stage. Fred, Wilma and Pebbles must have adopted some rules of mutual respect, consideration for others etc. … all in the name of harmony. Barney R. thought it too cold to exit the cave and would defecate in a corner. The others put up with it for awhile, until strange sicknesses began to appear and the stench became unbearable. Wilma, being the more aggressive, grabbed Barney by the ear one day, pinned his protesting arms behind him and frogmarched him outside. So, with Barney staring at Wilma with eyes like two piss-holes in the snow, a law was made. Barney still had his freedom of choice to crap anywhere he liked … outside! That is until the local councilmen got tired of cleaning it off there Wellingtons. More laws, all in the name of harmony, public health and to cut down on overtime payments incurred by the workers (unionists) …..

I know next to nought about your Health Care System, except that I agree with your: This is NOT about “health care”. It is about “control” and it is all about limiting “choice”. I have some ideas on HC, later would be better.

I think that it is important to look beyond the subject of this article, for after Obama has ‘bum rushed’ this past the lawmakers, what next is there to find fault with and enforce some form of control?

I’m off for a Tylenol (whilst they are still available and not classified as a health risk).

    Arthur

  3. Arthur:

“Archeologists and other sciences trying to find a link between Man & Monkey have got our ancestors living in caves. (The search is off by the way as they need look no further than the White House, the links have overrun the place).” That’s a good one. I’ve always thought the illegal alien in the White House looks like he has Chimp ears.

I think “Cobber” will be a great name for the new baby.

    Larry:

While the mental midgets running our country are trying to “fix” everything in sight, they really should find a way to “fix” all the leftist control freaks we have. You know, if you use another definition of the word “fix” that would be a great way to cut down on the population as well. It would fit in well with the leftist/NWO programs.

  4. Towards the end of last year’s campaign, Obama was asked by – I think Charles Gibson- in an interview if he had been able to “kick the habit.” He said,”unfortunately,no, but I won’t smoke in the White House.” There are many balcones at the White House.

Next time you see a documentary of a White House meeting when John F. Kennedy was President, you will see him smoking away.

I notice that Patrick Kennedy had to admt himself to a rehab center to help him with his alcohol addiction. Do you suppose that Barry would ever touch that “sin” as well? I guess since he has “get-togethers” every Wednesday evening with his partners in crime, he wouldn’t dream of that one.

A drunk, cocaine addict killed my 28 year old son by hitting him head on in with his ca driving 100 mph. I do not hate everyone who drinks alcohol, nor did I petition the government to outlaw alcohol.

  5. Great article Larry. Your mention of “truth” which the Libs have so little reminded me of something I picked up on another site. See below. Always, Always, We Speak, Understand and Need to Know The Truth — We speak the truth to glorify God. The second point, we need to find the facts, so we can uncover the truth. And the third point we need the truth, so we’ll be able to protect our citizens and defend our Constitution.

By Anonymous Where will we be taken next? I think it will be food while they build the tin can car requirements we must obey. Then we can freeze in the winter and bake in the summer to save energy. Both of these are also ways to help medicare and S.S. costs as old. ill. and poor will die from both. We are preparing for the worst. We will have food, water, guns, and ammo on hand. We farm about 3/4 A of land and have started an orchard. We will defend ours till the death. I wonder if I feed Libs to my dog will it make her ill or dumb.

I’m in total agreement with you Larry. This health plan has nothing to do with my health and everything to do with my wealth, such as it is.

When they finally obliterate the tobacco companies, we all know where the tax revenue that they lose will come from. I used to be able to avoid paying that tax by exercising my choice not to smoke. When the tobacco companies disappear into the black hole of social engineering, I will be taxed so that those 400,000 people per annum can die of something else—perhaps drinking sodas. No, wait a minute, we’re going to be a sodaless society and perhaps a Big Mac-less society as well.

Just think how free we’ll be in this new choiceless society.

  7. noleftturnz

    Family,

As I said, this one was hard to write because I had to take up the cause of “smoking” but it is not really about smoking or health care, it is about a “grown-ups right to choose”.

Targeting “smoking” as the first step in the “health care demise”, Obama et al. chose a target that has already been softened up for years.

It’s ALL ABOUT CONTROL of every element of our lives.

“Smoking” was the easiest vehicle for the left to use, next stop caffeine or sugar or flour or carbs or lightbulbs or..

It’s just a game to them.

They giggle when their minions jump through the hoops, they now want everyone to..

    Larry

  8. I am beginning to envy the Russian people. It was a bloody contest but they at least did not just roll over and give up their freedoms, liberties and souls as the American people are doing today.

But worst of all I am becoming ashamed. Ashamed of my fellow countrymen who, though there are voices of the light of truth out there, are content to sit and let their life as free Americans be stripped away without an utterance of objection. I clearly cannot understand this. It is beyond comprehension of all reasonable thought.

I am a smoker. I do not climb the walls if I can’t have a cigarette when the “urge” strikes me. I have always been able to go days, weeks without cigarettes if the need called for it. It’s just something I do.

I’ve quit for 1 year several times and for 3 years once for no paticular reason and started back up for no paticular reason.

To help Obama’s propagandist BS in attacking the tobacco industry I caught an advertisement on TV one evening which said that “For every cigarette smoked it took 10 minutes off your life.” I figured that up in my case as I started smoking at age 15 1/2 giving them that I’d smoked a pack a day. I took out the number of years that I’d quit smoking but I didn’t add in the number of years (15 1/2) that I’d been around the second hand smoke of both my parents.

According to their figures I should have died when I was 48 years old and if I’d never been exposed to cigarette smoke I would have lived until I was 102. That is provided I would get proper medical care from Obama’s nifty healthcare system because I wasn’t to damned old and useless!

  9. Joe… I was a brat, hyper active, kid. Our family Dr. told my parents to have me smoke a cigarette after each meal and before bed. This was to calm me down. That was at age 11. As time passed on and I was in more and more stressful jobs my consumption reached 4 packs a day. I tried everything I could find to help quit, but nothing worked until I had a heartattack at age 65. Now over 8 years later I still do not smoke, but I resent the way the Libs treat smokers. I agree it is all a scam for control. I have asked where are the people? No one cares except the people like those of us that meet here, listen to Rush, and Glenn Beck. We have to educate the masses and entice them to join us. God help us, the task is daunting, but our nation is at great risk.

  10. Control is the only thing driving this administration and their minions. God gave us ten commandments, but died for us so we could choose. I have been very thoughtful about this free country and what it means to me. And I have even tried to imagine myself being born in a different land and what would my life be like? That makes for some real thanksgiving to our Founders who walked the talk and secured our freedom with their blood. If the tree of liberty needs blood nourishment now and then, I think we are fast approaching a NOW.

  11. I keep wondering what’s next? Cigarettes are an easy target. Alcohol will probably be next…although with Biden 2nd in command (God help us), maybe not. I won’t be suprised if they’ll “legalize” marijuana just so they can tax it. They’ll have to come up with something to make up for the cigarette taxes that will be going bye-bye! Although, I’d like to see the libs try and stop the Native American’s from selling tobacco products….hmmm….they may finally get their revenge 😎

All I really know is I refuse to be controlled by the United States government. Go ahead and try BHO….you’ll find you’re in for a fight.

  12. I am a smoker, but I have found a way to avoid BHO’s excessive taxes on this product; I order them online from Ukraine. All the government’s attempts to control this particular product will only give the black market more and deprive legitimate businesses of income.

    Larry,
You’re absolutely right that this only about control and not health care. Of course, I expect salt to be the next target of greater taxation. After all, how many pre-packaged foods can you find without a significant amount of salt added? Also, when I was diagnosed with hypertension, the doctor toldme I should eliminate as much salt as possible from my diet; salt-free foods cost more than foods with salt added.

  13. noleftturnz

    Todd,

Thanks for the reimder, I left salt off of my list a few comments back..

It doesn’t matter though, they want control of EVERYTHING.

Never give up, never give in, and never again..

    Larry

  14. Larry,
You’re right. They do want control of everything! I just think salt would be the next easiest target, even easier than alcohol, because too many government people consume alcohol even while they’re supposedly working. However, given a chance, they will even be taxing us for the estimated amounts of CO2 we exhale.

  15. I’m glad to see everyone agrees….it’s never been about anything but CONTROL.
Listen to what he says…then watch what he does.

  16. Margaret in CT

If the health care in the U.S. is so terrible and the care provided in the countries that have already tried socialized medicine is so wonderful, where are the statistics to prove it? The care in such places as Canada and Britain is so inferior that no one can “cook” the statistics to hide it. Americans should be demanding proof that such a change is needed. Give us a breakdown of who constitutes the 46 million, now 50 million, uninsured. The hospital where I am a volunteer turns no one away—loses millions yearly to treating the uninsured. Yet no one in the administration is longing for a more govrnment intervention in health care. Why? Very simple. The program is about political power. Nothing else! Hospitals will not thrive under this plan.

  17. Margaret,

Exactly! There have been individuals and groups from the medical profession (not lobbyists) speaking, or rather testifying before Congress as to why Obama’s socialized, mandated healthcare won’t work.

They have been downright ignored by our so-called “representatives” and some have even been escorted out of the Chambers by security. Not for being a physical threat or rowdy but because the liberal “leaders” simply refused to listen.

    Todd,

I agree in Obama will be a tremendous force in the growth of the black market. Looking at it in the long run, the people running the black market will gain such power as to where they too may be running as candidates for political office.

We will then have a choice; A criminal with business sense or the usual criminals with law degrees to represent us in Washington.

  18. You’re right, it is about politicizing medical care. If it was about insurance it could be solved by subsidizing the private insurance premiums of the poor and tearing down state barriers to competition to bring prices down.

The only way to stop it is to let the Democrats know that when it fails it will be hung around their necks like the rotting stinking albatross that it is and will haunt them at every future election.

  19. beyond disgusted

You’re so right Larry & Family, it is totally about control! I am already so sick of the nanny state, I could scream. I’m not 5 years old & resent being treated as such. As a kid, I couldn’t wait to grow up so I could do as I pleased. Boy was I in for a rude awakening!

What is it going to take to wake people up? Sadly, I fear that way too many Americans really do not care about freedom & liberty. Some have their hands out, others are too self absorbed, & still others are just plain stupid. It ain’t lookin’ good.

  20. beyond disgusted,

Imagine if you will a total income tax paying revolt by the upstanding American citizens. Remembering that the Federal Government does not produce anything, it is merely a collective pawn of the states of America directly controlled by the people of those states.

Should such a “withdrawal” happen, along with many other federal taxes illegally imposed, the government would be forced, not unlike now, to print useless money and borrow from foreign countries to cover it’s debt and eventually be owned by a comglomorate of foreign nations. Obama says we should learn to speak Latino, hell, by the time he’s done we’d better know how to speak Chinese!

“What is it going to take to make people wake up?” In the case of the of the liberals who elected the socialist now running our country, not loss of freedoms or liberties but money. Money is what drives the leftist cult. From the bottom feeding, welfare, single mother, food stamp, inner-city dregs, the illegal alien stipends taxpayer’s cost to the elitist politicians who falsely represent them and ever tear jearking cause known to humanity.

In honor of Father’s Day, my Father used to say, If that when you die you have five real friends, then you’ve had a great life.”
I consider myself overly blessed in knowing Larry and “the family” here at NLTZ. Thanks to all of you here.
    Joe.

  21. Arthur – excellent choice! I can’t wait to hear about “Cobber” when he/she arrives!

Excellent article, Larry. Y’all are spot on – it’s all about control. These “sin” taxes are making blood shoot outta my eyes, as Beck would say.

Joe – Craig T Nelson (“Coach”) told Glenn Beck he’s going to stop paying taxes – he’s had enough and he’s not going to take it anymore. Even said he’d go to jail if that’s what it took. I believe this thought has crossed the minds of many in order to stop the insanity – or at the very least curb it.

Margaret – excellent point! Show us! And this time, how about we use REAL math and REAL numbers!

  22. Did anyone else get this open letter to Obama from the retired executive from Proctor & Gamble, Lou Pritchett? It was sent to the NY Times, which never printed it…but did get out on the internet…here it is.

    Dear President Obama:
You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, YOU TRULY SCARE ME. (emphasis mine)

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.
YSM (short for YOU SCARE ME) will be added before each sentence to save time and space.

YSM because I do no know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and you upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

YSM because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America, and culturally you are not American.

YSM because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

YSM because you have never had military experience, thus don’t understand it at its core.

YSM because you lack humility and “class,” always blaming others.

YSM because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

YSM because you are a cheerleader for the “blame America” crowd and deliver this message abroad.

YSM because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

YSM because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

YSM because you prefer “wind mills” to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

YSM because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

YSM because you have begun to use “extortion” tactics against certain banks and corporations.

YSM because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

YSM because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

YSM because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

YSM because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

YSM because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O”Reillys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

YSM because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, YSM because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

    Lou Pritchett

  23. Joe: I have to take issue with your otherwise very good messages. I don’t believe that DC has been controlled by the “people” for many decades. The Fed is a completely out of bounds octopus that feeds on control. States that offer Food Stamps, a federal program, have to dance to Uncle Sam’s tune. For a long time the tail has been wagging the dog – exactly the opposite of what the founders wanted. His Emminence is taking full advantage of this. He’s jamming his programs through like meat through a grinder. Our elected officials (at least the Republicans) seem to shake in their boots at the prospect of standing up to this tin horn tyrant. It’s the Big Media attacks that would ensue that really scare them, I think. So they play it safe, don’t ruffle any feathers and keep quiet to get reelected. Short of a real revolution in America, I believe that we are sunk. Just trying to be realistic, here.

  24. Larry,

By the way, of your reference to “historic (unconstitutional) efforts” I might step on toes a bit and say that I think unconstiutional should have been capitalized.

You, I and all of us here know that the procedures Obama has been using to acquire his socialistic agenda is totally against Constitutional Law. It is beyond me, even with the recognition of a liberal Congress, why someone or somebodys have not come forth on this issue.

Will we to wait for our freedoms and liberties to come before the courts as lawsuits and be forever dragged down in the murky depths of the legalities of never-ending appeals? (Think Sotomayor here. Oh crap, I’m a white man, I’m screwed!)

  25. I’m done.

    Its time for CIVIL WAR!

  26. Rick2,

I couldn’t agree more with your analysis, my friend. But who is it that is really to blame for the lack of control over the Federal Government? Why hasn’t the “people” controlled DC for many decades.

There is only one answer, only one fault and that fault is lies upon the very same “people” that have allowed the government to slowly gain control in their lives.

Either by not exercising their right to vote as free Americans or because of plain laziness and ignorance, “We The People” have progressivly brought upon today’s big government. I would say that because more and more Americans qualify with the above traits, it is we who are guilty.

This government should be declared illegal. Our nation is by no means a “Republic” as was drawn up and forged by our founding fathers. Federal Government would have nothing or little to do with the individual citizen as that was the individual states governments role.

The Republican Party is afraid to go back to the stringent Conservative methology. More people prefer the supposedly on the surface “softer” Liberal veiw. What they don’t know is that they are putting their nation on a sacrificial alter to false gods.

  27. Right on, Joe. The John Birch’s motto used to be (I believe): “This is a Republic, not a Democracy. Keep it that way!”

Sadly, that’s no longer true, today. How the mighty have fallen!

  28. Obama plans today to announce plans that will give the Federal Reserve greater supervisory authority over large finincial institutions whose problems pose potential risk to the economy. In my opinion all the “supervising” should be done on Obama himself.

What gets me is that the Federal Reserve is in no way “Federal.” It is not political, not a part of the government and the word “Federal” is a misnomer, a guise in making the American people think that it does belong to the government. It is a business, operated by businessmen for profit by controlling interest rates and the economy. The Federal Reserve has more power than any president or Congress could ever think of having in the operation of this country.

The officials that lead the Fed today preside over an organization that is run in substantial part by the bankers they regulate. Bank regulation begins at its 12 District Federal Reserve Banks, each governed by a nine-member board of directors, two-thirds of whom are elected by the bankers in the district.

A seperate “regulating” federal board has already been tried in 1979 with the Federal Institutions Examining Council with poor results. Something you might compare with a 20 lashings with a wet noodle.

    More bureaucracy, more big government.

  29. triviaman and Rick2,

An interesting, and devastating, “inventuallity” happened within the last two decades. I’m talking about “politically correct”.

What many in America are THINKING but yet AFRAID to SAY out loud, for fear of being labled a racist, bigot, Islamophobic, or intolerant.

Anyone who voices his or her opinion contrary to the “polically correct think” is immediatedly tagged with being one of the above “titles” or worse. This is exactly as the liberal doctrine has planned. It creates nothing but social paranoia which discourages free thought and expression.

Again, We The People, our society, must be held accountable for the Federal Government’s actions and that by not judging others, it is we alone that have created the monsters that we are dealing with today. We did this every time we re-elected a self-serving representative, didn’t bother to vote at all or weren’t educated on the issues and didn’t call, write, email or phone the people who represent us when national issues concerned our individual liberties and freedoms.

The few that brought forth the founding of our nation were not mighty, but they were determined in their will.

  30. Joe:

I guess I’m definitely not “polically correct.” I told a (non-voting) liberal that, in my opinion, all the illegal aliens should be sent back to where they came from. The idiot accused me of being anti-hispanic. I asked him how he came to that conclusion since there are many other groups of illegals here, including Russians, Chinese, Africans, Koreans, Jamaicans, Canadians and so on. When he couldn’t debate that, he accused me of being anti-immigrant. I told him that I have no problem with immigrants but I do have problems with people who enter my country illegally.

Unlike the rest of us, liberals don’t seem to feel that entering the country illegally is against the law. Under the First Ammendment I am still entitled to my opinion. If they want to take me to court, so be it.

  31. LadyWolf,

I have never been “politically correct” as when the terminology of it first came out I thought it was a joke. (as did a large number of my friends) A grammatical playing with the words, if you will which I, at the time, found enjoyable. Little did I realize that I wasn’t to far off in thinking that “being” politically correct was a joke in the liberal attemp to smooth over otherwise disturbing words that might cause rise amongst the nation’s citizenry.

As an example I give you “vocal minority” in pollcor speak. To the liberals this is a target equity group ensuring future votes no matter the cost of or the final end result in our nation’s well being.

Obama is pushing for amnesty of better than 12 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS who possess jobs in America due to unscrupulous employers, that would and should belong to our nation’s unemployed!

Obama continues to ignore this fact, the big unions that supported him in his campaign and in Constitutionally illegal take-over of Chrysler and GM has uttered a peep, the bastards.

I hold nothing but disdain for and, yes, I don’t give a damn who knows it, I am biased towards anyone who comes into MY AMERICA illegally, demands THEIR rights, flies THEIR country’s flag above the UPSIDE-DOWN STARS AND STRIPES!!

The so-called “courts” in this country be damned, (I do hope this reaches Sotomayor) it ain’t gonna happen’ as long as I’m alive.

    2010!!!!!

  32. Joe:

I agree with you Joe but I don’t feel either of us is biased. We just happen, unlike the liberals, to believe in the Constitution and obeying the laws of our country. If someone doesn’t agree with us tough.

    Lary and Family:

Unfortunately, my sources are saying that Sotomayor will likely be confirmed. Her past is being buried like the birth certificate of the Illegal Alien in Our White House. The word is that we should prepare for trouble when she gets in. I know that the 88’s (a neo-Nazi/White supremacist gang) are gearing up for an action in NY. Other groups are as well. The Black Panthers have been doing heavy recruitment and they appear to be gearing up too. If you remember , I told the family in an earlier post that Sotomayor hates whites and blacks. Considering the fact that she’s from the Bronx, the trouble will likely start there but we feel that it will spread across the country. We all feel something will happen this July.

Meanwhile, as I’m sure you know Larry, the crime reports across the country are rising rapidly and I don’t think they really touch the tip of the iceberg. The reports I’m hearing are really scary.

    Stitch:

You’re right about stockpiling. Those who are prepared will have a chance. The Civil War is coming.

  33. A little off subject here folks, but still keeping with the liberal’s undying quest to tax us into poverty, “Queen” Pelosi has just announced that she wants a House Floor vote on the cap-and-trade Carbon Tax next week.

The Wicked Witch of the West is pressuring the Agricultural Committee for a vote by the end of the day tomorrow. A pure and unadlterated fast–tracking of the Carbon Tax bill.

This is an outrageous grab for power by the Federal Government to increase it’s size and raise all of our taxes. The bill deserves full deliberation and should not be rushed.

Get on you PCs and e-mail, fax or phone your Representatives to let them know you the fast-tracking of taking more money out of your pocket.
