It seems that “Leisure Suit Larry” and his “reelection” have stirred the Iranian people to take to the streets. You will pardon me if I feel more than obliged to interject the correlations between that “country” and ours into my “reporting” of this incident.. The strange similarities will be placed within parenthesis and sarcasm should be duly noted and giggled at appropriately..

In “Iran rules out annulment, Tehran crowds gather” (Reuters) we are told of the saga of Mister “I-Need-A-New-Job” and his alleged reelection. Here we read that “Iran’s top legislative body ruled out annulling a disputed presidential poll (Iranian polls seem to be similar to America’s polls related to the Obama “job performance”..) that has prompted the biggest street protests since the 1979 Iranian Revolution.” (Which was enabled by our own little poorly dressed terrorist/pathetic liberal, Dhimmi Carter.)

“Editors note: Reuter’s coverage is now subject to an Iranian ban on foreign media leaving the office to report, film or take pictures in Tehran.” (Here in America, our “impartial” media gets around this road block by setting up shop inside the White House and allowing the Obamazombies to take control of their “impartial” “product”..) (On 06/24/09, ABC “News” will allow their “impartial” reporting to be an idiotic infomercial for the “health care hysteria/fascist takeover volume four” which will be broadcast from the Offal Office..)

“The 12 man Guardian Council said it was ready to re-tally votes in the poll, in which (Doofus) was declared the runaway winner.” (In America, the “re-tally” dog and pony show is only required when the liberals lose. The same voting machines in the same areas utilized by the same numskull voters were apparently okie dokey in 2008 as opposed to 2000 and 2004 when “disenfranchisement” reigned.. Since the “runaway winner” was the “historic” liberal, it was full speed ahead..)

Just as one example of the Obama “One Way Street of Diplomacy”, when it comes to Israel and their fight against and the terrorist troublemakers that surround them, Obama has no qualms whatsoever about “meddling” on behalf of those “troublemakers” until his heart of darkness is content..)

“Obama, who has sought to engage Iran and has asked leadership to “unclench its fist” (Obama and his socialist stooges haven’t yet “unclenched their fist” from the neck of capitalism..) said he was deeply troubled by the post-election violence..” (I will guess that he wasn’t too “deeply troubled” by the violence after some basketball team won a “world championship” in Los Angeles.. This “violence” is more “deeply troubling” due to it being absolutely unnecessary and apparently somehow excusable because of the “ethnicity” of the rioters/revelers.. The Iranians are doing what the apathetic Americans, who were “disenfranchised” by the ACORN illegality and the inner city “vote as often as you can” “fairness” factor, didn’t do in November of 2008..) (Please note as well, 375,000 people showed up the next night in the “City of Champions” to celebrate the Stanley Cup victory of the Pittsburgh Penguins.. No “knuckleheads”, no cars turned over, no fires.. Oh well, different sport, different crowd, I guess..)

One of the Iranian puppets (Here; “progressive puppets”) said to a hastily assembled “crowd” of ticking Ah-mad-inejad “supporters”, “Tehran, where Mousavi won the most votes, did not represent all of Iran..” (The inner cities and the leftist/elitist enclaves DEFINITELY did not represent all of America, yet “that one over there” managed to win..)

“Further protests, especially if they were on the same scale as Monday’s would be a direct challenge to the authorities who have kept a tight grip on dissent..” (This is the equivalent of the “Tea Parties” in relation to the Bolshevik brown shirts and their Obama disinformation campaign where “dissent” with the prevailing liberal caliphate is considered to be “acrimonious” among other unsavory descriptors..)

This dissent comes from the fact that “Ahmadinejad’s truculent foreign policy and populist economics are shaping Iran’s future..” (Dissent here stems from Obama’s passive/flaccid foreign policy and his unpopular economics of socialism which are shaping America’s future demise..)

“Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, supposedly above the political fray, has favored..” (In America, the “Supreme Leader” is personally responsible for the “political fray”..)

An Iranian “Intelligence Minister” Mohseni-Ejel (probably as useful as an Obama “intelligence minister”, or would that be yet another “Czar”?) said that “one wanted to achieve its goal through explosions and terror” (talk about the “pot calling the kettle black”, an Iranian whining about “explosions and terror”?) because allegedly “20 explosive consignments were discovered. They were supported from outside the country.” (This coming from the “Iraqi insurgent enablers” of Iran? The worms who have endorsed and bankrolled the IED’s and the terrorists who plague Iraq?? I certainly HOPE that this did come from “outside the country”. However, I don’t believe this to be true because if it were actually so, it would have been much more “effective”. The exception to that theory would have been if Obama and any of his cohorts had been involved. Think back to Carter’s “Operation Eagle Claw” as your liberal template..)

“Illustrating Iran’s sensitivity to world opinion, authorities on Tuesday banned foreign journalists from leaving their offices to cover the protest.” (In America, this will never be a concern for Obama. The duplicitous marionettes of the media would simply look the other way or “report” about something as “newsworthy” as what a fashion maven Michelle is or what the new Obama dog is named.. The disputatious disagree-ers here in America are categorized as “the minority” or as “acrimonious” when they are condescendingly discussed at all..) (Iran is “sensitive to world opinion?? They are as “sensitive” as North Korea is.. This is just another opportunity to enforce the Obama-esque type of “control” that America has rolled over and allowed..)

“A spokesman for the Guardian Council, which groups clerics and Islamic law experts as a constitutional watchdogs..” (Under Obama, Muslim “clerics and Islamic law experts” serve as “constitutional watchdogs” as well.. They are led by the Supreme Court, which is eagerly awaiting the arrival of “Shemp” Sotomayer..)

“Police have accused “bandits” of setting buses on fire, breaking windows of banks and other buildings and damaging public property..” (The Iranian “officials” just haven’t grasped that this is how everyone in the world “celebrates” the professional basketball championships.. The only other acceptable exceptions for this type of felonious behavior are the followers of Al $harpton.. “Dear Leader” also said, “It would be wrong for me to be silent on what we’ve seen on television that last few days”. No, he wasn’t talking about the idiotic basketball riots..)

The correlations between the Obama government and the Iranian situation were to coincidental and too copious to let pass without comment.. The similarities between the two certainly do not end there and my bringing this information out of the shadows and into the light of day does not end there either..

    G’day Larry and Family,

    After a few days ‘off net’, I am finally back with the family and ready to put forward my two-penneth worth. I am the victim of our modern throwaway society, in that having my computer ‘die’ on me, went to my good friend’s computer shop to have the problem diagnosed and returned to active duty. Turns out to be that the ‘motherboard’ had failed and of course, everything else died with it. Over five years old with no problems to speak of. But, as ‘time is a thief’, I find that in replacing the motherboard, I was also up for a new CPU, new RAM and other fiddly bits to make it go again. So, if the US is anything like Thailand and the majority of computer purchases are from a shop that specialises in putting all the pieces together, rather than a come-as-it-is brand-name and your computer is a little aged, then you will be up for a little surprise (dollar wise). New RAM and CPUs are not compatible with older model mainboards. Luckily, the prices of computer components have fallen dramatically over the last five years.

    Anyway, here we are, looking at the elections in Iran and Obama’s reaction to a situation that he is all too familiar with – a gerrymandered election. It is all part of a plan and I would not put my trust in anything that the Obama presidency puts out (there is no government as such, as everything and anything that he puts forward, is accepted out of hand). An article from Arutz Sheva ( ) “The Inevitable Iranian Crisis” Robert D. Onley, states: “Today, while the Iranian populace collectively and legitimately holds its breath with regard to their nation’s electoral future, the depressing reality at the international level is that the Israeli-Iranian nuclear crisis will continue to deteriorate, and rapidly so.” So, Obama may pontificate all he likes to his ‘captured American and international audience’ but his words mean absolutely nought to those Iranian’s looking for freedom and a new direction, as well as to those Israelis who ‘hope upon hope’ for a peaceful settlement of its wars (and rumours of wars) with the Arab/Persian/Islamic world. The latter may be nigh on impossible to achieve. Just as there are hawks within the makeup of Israel, there is, sad to say, a corresponding number of doves, left-wingers, socialists, pinkos and fellow travellers, who luckily at the moment, do not hold the sway of power.

    Looking further into what Larry has written, we must be pragmatic in our outlook as to the true situation that exists for Israelis. We have seen that bumbling fool Carter make another visit to the Gaza Strip, we have also seen Obama’s reactions/ultimatums to Israel’s right to expansion and ultimately, self-determination. America is drifting further away from Israel than it has ever been since Truman times. So, how will Israel react? there is only one sensible way and that is to “Attack in every direction with maximum force.” Those who think it is simply a half day operation to knock out Iran’s nuclear sites, better rethink the problem. Just as in ‘Desert Storm’, where there were US Special Forces and Israeli Agents highlighting (laser designating) the most important targets in the middle of Baghdad for the initial air assault, you can rest assured that there are Israeli agents (and others) in Teheran at the moment as well as staking out the Iranian defensive apparatus the length and breadth of the country. Egypt and Syria must be prime targets and to a lesser degree, The Lebanon and Jordan will assuredly be closely monitored. Sadly (spelt C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L-L-Y), the air support (electronic counter measures) provided by the US during the six-day war (Israel – Egypt) which shut down all electronic communications, will be missing. If and when the Israelis decide to attack, there is no denying that it is going to be a hard nut to crack. To say: If only America could apply political pressure coupled with the threat of military action on the side of Israel, is an overused excuse employed by NATO and European nations to allow America to foot the bill and to take military casualties whilst they set back and do nothing – Have a look which countries are now lining up for the oil contracts with Iraq – To me, the US has the right to shut down any export of oil from Iraq’s except to pay for necessities, the rest going as reparation and payments for US casualties and monetary costs incurred during the war. The US is too kind.

    But, things have changed. No longer does America have a seemingly endless supply of money and war/non-war materials to do anything, anywhere they like. America used to have money. Where has it gone? Discounting the latest financial shemozzle and the proliferation in bail outs (with no money) and understanding that now America has no gold reserve to back up the currency within the free market, I wonder .. Where did all the money go? I also wonder, do Americans, like of the NLTZ family realise test how much money America has spent and is spending on other nations today? I would like to give an account of my own views and observations, but that is for another day.

    Off Subject (just a litle bit):

    Almost back to normal here … As normal as things can be. On the lookout for a new ‘Cobber’ and will have ‘Jillie’ home from the dog hospital tomorrow. If I hadn’t taken her to the vet when I did, the lovely Jillie would have croaked. A number of viruses plus a low white blood count etc, the cause of which, hopefully, have been arrested and with a little bit of further medication, Bob’s your uncle.

    Why extend the physical effort for such an undertaking? Just show up in November 2010 and “DO THE RIGHT THING”.. The apathetic placed these liberals in office in 2008, if they show up in 2010 we may be able to staunch the arterial flow.

    “On January 6, 2009, a bill was submitted in Congress to repeal the XXII Amendment. We may yet see a “President-for-life” if the new Progressives have their way.”

    Has anyone in the Family heard about this? My husband listens to Jay Sekulow and doesn’t recall him mentioning it either. If this is true and this bill is passed, we can truly kiss the U.S. goodbye.

Honest elections in America?? Equally unlikely. It still amazes me that anyone actually believes a word our fearless leader (may he live forever) has to say. I keep wondering how long it will be before he sets up a “statue in the plain” and at the sound of the flute, sackbut, etc., we all fall down and “worship”? I am developing a sense of “awe” and”wonderment” as I watch this whole scenario unfold as previously recorded. It is nice to know that “nothing is a surprise to God”.

She beat out Marisa Tomei and the blonde agent girl from ‘Chuck’ to make it to number 93, but come on! Even men’s magazines are no longer safe from the politicization of everything. Of course the Ebony Eucarist is the cover model for Newsweek and Rolling Stone at least once a month.

    You guys ought to click over to Glenn Beck’s site, and check out the letter written by one of his viewers. She expresses what all of us here are feeling: the increasing belief that there is nobody in Washington whom listens to us, and that we the citizens are becoming disenfranchised subjects of a government that no longer cares what we think. In less than two years we may see here what the people of Iran are seeing now, the voice of the people whom yearn for real change and hope, and not spare change and hype, being overridden by a government that thinks it knows better.

    I note in the photos of the demonstrations in Iran that some of the signs are written in English (“Where is my vote?”), rather than in Farsi. It’s an obvious cry for help from the “global community,” but how much support will they get? One media outlet after the other is being closed down or refused access because the government can’t guarantee that they will be “protected.” Protected from whom? The government! This type of circular insanity has played out in the past in many countries, particularly in Africa and South America. I see no reason for the outcome to be different in Iran. I’m certain that the globalists won’t get too worked up about it. Denial of liberty is no big deal, being that liberty is a conservative value.

    Stuffed ballot boxes? Armed men barring or intimidating prospective voters? Perhaps ACORN in Chicago or the New Black Panthers in Philly provided Ahmedinejad with advice for a “winning” election strategy. Israel: lock and load!

    Larry: Rereading your article over again along with the learned responses, I am able to glean that the ongoing ‘people’s struggle’ in Iran could be “the test” that Biden blabbed about six months ago.

    I think all NLTZ family have concluded that Obama will not be up-to-the-mark in making any case against “I-Need-A-New-Job” and his band of murderers. Remember, the brave people who are protesting in Tehran have all been ‘filmed’ and will most likely face execution if they are unsuccessful in their quest. From “On The Record” : SOBHANI to VAN SUSTEREN – “Well, in a timespan of three weeks in the early ’80s, yes, there were 7,000 executions…”

    I hope Obama and the ‘supercilious twits’ in the W H have a ‘bang-up (party) evening’ next week (or somewhere within that time-frame), at roundabout the time the streets of Tehran have fallen silent, the mass graves have been prepared and the only sounds come from the execution sites – a 24 hour-a-day job for the Revolutionary Guard. Oh how brave they are. I have never prayed for a Muslim, but I do now – as these people are (like it or not) our brothers and sisters – for a little while anyway. I pray for a miracle and that evil loses – goodness wins. I know (personally) that there are many just waiting for the chance to oust the current regime and become a strong ally to free Nations – particularly America. Its up to Obama to show (not what he personally believes in, but) that Americans really care. If the free-world lets this one slide, what hope is there for freedom fighters worldwide? The rest of the ‘free world’ can hang their head in shame.

    Stitch and others have separately put forward the idea of “Armed Revolution” in The U.S. I am coming around to their way of thinking. I see nothing that inspires conservatives to wait until 2012 – there will be nothing left to fight with. I sure hope I am wrong though. I am sure President Reagan would have had a carrier task force in position by now and some words of encouragement for the brave in Iran.

As a young fellow, like most people in OZ freshly introduced to ‘TV’, I would watch Bilko at every opportunity – (The Phil Silvers Show 1955 to 1959 [a total of 143 episodes]). I thought it was bonzer back then and having no reason to feel any different, I asked a mate of mine in Wales to purchase for me from ebay ‘The Phil Silvers Show’ – all 143 episodes.     Such slugs bring down the reputations of the teachers who honestly care about the education that they are paid to provide.

So, Obama suggesting continued U.S. support of Israel may be contingent on Israel not continuing normal growth expansion of already-existing settlements (so, for example, an aging father and mother cannot move to “expand” a settlement where their son now lives) is NOT “meddling,” but Obama calling the Iranian rigged election what everyone knows it was and calling on the mullahs to conduct a do-over and saying America stands with people who want liberty everywhere, that IS “meddling”?

    I don’t think Reagan worried too much about being “popular” in the USSR when he came out and called it an “evil empire.” I don’t even think he worried all that much about being popular here at home. He just worried about doing the right thing and standing up for American values against anybody who doubted them, much less questioned them, much lesser (can I say that?) threatened them.

    On the other hand, His Narcissist-in-Chief is more worried about his popularity, both here and abroad, than he is about standing up for American values — if he even knows what they are — or were, before he came along and began “remaking” the USA into the USSA.

    I even wrote an article on my blog (Just askin’ -Just sayin’ at: entitled, “What Kind of Nation Is America Now, Mr. President?” because every time Obama goes abroad on one of his apology tours I learn something “new” and “bad” about the country I served for almost 26 years in the Army and still, and will always be, so fiercely proud of.

    Terrific article. Today, there were assertions out of Iran there were several towns registering far greater numbers of votes, than there are registered voters. Well, tisk tisk tisk…can you imagine that? More votes than registered voters, DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR? It should.
    But, Stitch, you’re right…”we ain’t seen nothing yet.” What really scares the hell out of me is the notion of a potential civil uprising. You see, the symbol of our nation, no longer the eagle, but an octopus with a new arm of the federal government reaching out to put a hold on another vital national organ and strangle the life out of it. At this rate, it’s true, there may not be much in way of freedoms remaining by 2010, much less 2012.
    We hunger for a leader to speak for us. Larry, when I say you do us a grand service, I say with sincerity. We, the people, are becoming further disenfranchised by the day. Were it not for Fox, I believe there would already be rioting in the streets.

  35. We should show the Iranian people the respect that their own leaders don’t, they have my respect though. Our own government is starting to look like Iran, and that’s not a future I will never embrace. This could be us in a few years after our useless Congress marches us toward their socialist agenda. Watch and learn. The Iranians seem to crave the freedoms we once had and want to stop their leaders from entering their daily lives. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, their religious and supreme leader; as their current and corrupt leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad steals an election and takes away their votes to continue to dominate and control their country and what direction they take it. Their recount sounds very similar to our Minnesota recount. One vote for you, two votes for me.

    With our new technology they are able to show the rest of the World what is happening in their Country as their leaders remove the foreign press from their borders. If they are controlling their own press and what gets released is very telling as ours government starts to control ours and what gets released for public consumption; I’ve got a wicked case of ingestion and diarrhea. So why would Obama not wants the public to stop watching FoxNews and why would the other networks and cable news channel and our print press continue bashing them everyday? Could it be that maybe Fox has exposed them and they cannot have educated people voting for their competition? When the mainstream media started complaining about them, it made me curious as to why would they. My curiosity got the best of me, they aren’t conservative by any means, and they generally bring on both sides in a debate, which I haven’t seen the rest of the media do in a very long time. Those that complained probably haven’t watched it at all. Let’s face the facts that our press seems to have embraced the theories of the oldest profession as well as our politicians. I wonder who’s the pimp and who’s the john. But, I could see Obama in a nice purple velvet number with a matching purple hat with a nice bright yellow feather.

    The citizens of Iran have shown more courage by using the internet, cell phones, laptops and other forms of media to get out to the World. We will start to see more killings as their government starts to rule with not only a heavy hand, but one that has grabbed a sledgehammer. Our new supreme leader holds out his limp wrist, and whispers a very weak response; he has chosen not to support the people of Iran. I keep going back to what happened in China at Tiananmen Square. As students and intellectuals on June 4, 1989, the protests occurred in a year that saw the collapse of a number of communist governments around the world. The protests were sparked by the death of a pro-market, pro-democracy, and anti-corruption official, Hu Yaobang, whom protesters wanted to mourn. The opposite of what our Government looks like now which is anti-market, anti-democracy and pro-corruption. Gee, thanks Obama, Pelosi and Reid. Thumbs up!

    Hu Yaobang died due to a heart attack two years later as a Party Political Bureau meeting on April 15, 1989. In his death announcement, he was described as: “Comrade Hu Yaobang was a long-tested and staunch communist warrior, a great proletarian revolutionist and statesman, an outstanding political leader for the Chinese army”. Although he was a “retired” official who had made “mistakes”, public pressure forced the CPC to accord him a State Funeral attended by party leaders, and as a form of eulogy which praised his work in restoring political normalcy and promoting economic development and growth after the Cultural Revolution. On April 22, 1989, 50,000 plus students marched to Tiananmen Square to participate in Hu’s funeral, while delivering a letter of petition to Premier Li Peng. We’ve seen the photograph of a young student or the Lone Rebel standing in front of a line of Liberation Army tanks.

    There are many similarities between what happened twenty years ago and to what has occurred in Iran. When people become repressed they tend to strike out at those who rule with a very heavy hand. I pray and hope that they get a better and more rewarding outcome. I can’t help but think that had the technology been available to those rebel student back in 1989, there may have been a different outcome.

    Our “president” is a dictator.
    Our legislature is NOT legislating.
    Our Supreme Court has shredded our Constitution (which they swore an oath to uphold) and declared we are no longer a nation of laws, but of political favors.
    Our petitions, letters, protests, emails, phone calls, are ridiculed and ignored.
    We have NO CHOICE but to rise up and FIGHT.
    I hate to do this (because its so long), but read what one of our Founding Fathers said in March 1775.

    Nothing on earth can do more damage to the opposition, or good for a just cause, than a well turned phrase spoken by an educated individual in a moderate tone. All of this premature “calling to arms” will do far more damage than good, as it is just what “the opposition” wants to prove their point about the threat of violent revolt which often accompanies the debate of good over evil.

    Larry is “spot on” with his muse of simple correlations. To show the fallacy of committed acts and to call out the falsehoods of the “Cæsars” of the political Left which are multiplying faster than a shedful of bunnies in spring.

    Where are Michael Moore, John Kerry, Jerimiah Wright, John Edwards, the Daily Kos, Air America, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson these days? What great strides have Harry Reid and Nancy Poo-losi made to guide this country back to prosperity? What mystical salve has the President, Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter applied to the supposed wounds which our country has inflicted upon the world? Draw those conclusions out in small words and short sentences if you want the masses to follow you.

    There’s no need to point a gun, when you can simply point a finger. There’s no need to gather arms, when you can simply gather and disburse factual information. Show the opposition for what they are, for what they have done, or mostly what for they haven’t done on a daily basis while in command, don’t simply hate them or vow to destroy them as individuals.

    Earlier, Margaret in CT said, “I note in the photos of the demonstrations in Iran that some of the signs are written in English (“Where is my vote?”), rather than in Farsi. It’s an obvious cry for help from the “global community.”

    Kudos to Mags for an excellent observation! These people are gathering together in a civilized war with simple words, not mindless weapons fired in anger from the darkness. Anyone can pick up a weapon and force their will upon another, but it takes far more courage to boldly take a stand in the light of day and on the blood-soaked ground between right and wrong with only words and convictions to defend a worthy ideal.

    Strike the loud earth breathless with clear ideas and simple words, my friends. Show obvious “sorcery” for what it is, or for where it will lead our society to ultimate failure and it is the opposition’s acts and actions which will become paralized and defenseless.

    They will insist that the load be carried by the few and from their couch they will say, “I was with you all along..”

    Convince them that the polls hold the fate of our nation in 2010. The proof of that has been instituted since January 20th.. The left KNOWS this to be true.

    We KNEW that they would do this. They are socialists. They are losing the momentum.. Thus the “need for speed”.

    Hold their feet to the fire in 2010. Take the House. Take the Senate. I’m not that choosy at this point..

    Reagan defeated communism without firing a shot. The left will be considerably easier to topple..

    They are even being incredibly cooperative by “fast tracking” their “Target America First” pogrom.. It should be like stealing blankets from the homeless.

    Will we be stronger and better armed next week? next year?
    Or will we lose yet more rights by then?

    I’m not against that.
    We need ALL kinds of people.
    If you can pray 8, 10, 15 hours a day, then do it. We need it.

    To put it another way, Republicans held the entire game for how long and fumbled the ball, didn’t they? We’re on defense for a while, but that doesn’t mean that because we “think” we’re correct, we somehow have a God-given right to shoot all the members of the other team. Show me anywhere it says that, and I will offer my sincere apology to all.

    I strongly believe we should play the game the way it was designed to be played by civilized men and women. It is far more productive to “war with intelligent words” on the village square, than to pull pistols at 20 paces. I’ve seen senseless death “up close, and personal” on a few occasions, and I assure you, it is not pretty and, no matter the cause, it remains quite permanent.

    Yes, there is a time to choose-up sides and go to war, but, I assure you this is not one of them. How many times did we laugh at the opposition when they cried “foul” on stolen elections, then could not find a shred of evidence? How many times did they try to blame president Bush for “manufacturing” a war, when we could actually trace our problems with Saddam back to previous administrations? How easy is it becoming, day by day, to point out to our fellow citizens that this administration’s proposals have a high likelyhood of failure?

    Our forefathers has a tremendous capacity for resilience, and we need to recapture some of their spirit to win the day. Remember, we fought for freedom, only to start a war between ourselves. Learn from the mistakes of the past, ol’ boy. I ask you that as an “e-friend” and fellow countryman. Understanding and displaying the half-baked conclusions which drive your opposition’s desires is far more productive and civilized than simply killing him on the battlefield, any day, any time, anywhere.

    Yes, you have my word I will take up arms in defense of my country, as I spent 8 years in our Army. Saying that, I cannot, and will not in good conscience, utter words of defeat, or,”cry havoc, and loose the dogs of war,” until all of our very civilized means and options of dissent have been thoroughly exhausted.


  47. First off, it’s so great to see all the new names posting here. Welcome and so glad to have you here.

    Second, I have some questions for those of you who live outside the US. How is what is happening here, North Korea and Iran playing out? Is the foreign press drooling over the arrogant one playing out where you live?

    Alabamians are very nervous and are worried about his lack of inaction and lack of support for the Iranian students who are protesting their government and their “free elections.” The protest signs in English should tell the bloated ego one that they are turning to you for help and support and you’ve turned your back to them. Both Countries are challenging Obama and daring him to act. He shows them his limp wrist and says “he’s concerned” and we really shouldn’t meddle with other Country’s government. I think the conservative translation would be I’m scared and I want my woobie.

    If Bush was still in Office either dictator would be playing these kinds of games. They knew or at least suspected that he would do everything in his power to stop them. Obama is showing them a weakness that will eventually bite him in the ass. Déjà vu all over again with Jimmy Bob and Billy Bob and we all know how that turned out. Let’s hope it’s not true, it’s not the bloat bureaucrat or the politicians that gets the pain; it’s always the normal American that bears the blunt of these attacks. Now Russia wants us to remove our nukes and this idiot will probably agree. Putin is another one waiting in the wings to show Obama a thing or too.

  48. beanhead, if it comes to the point where something akin to the infamous Sedition Act of the 1700s is passed by Congress (and, of course, immediately signed by our friendly, kind, neighborhood Pres “even before the ink is dried” on that piece of paper), then our voices will be stilled, except in the underground press and in our prayers to the Almighty.

    “Any people anywhere being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and force a new one that suits them better.” ( Abraham Lincoln)

    I wonder what meanings he gave to “shake off” and “force”? By physical means or verbal means–or both?

    You do well to delve the true meaning of words, tm. To try, as we all should, and separate the literal from the figurative.

    I don’t doubt that there is a real possibility that our mismanaged economy could entirely fail. I also don’t doubt our ability to “shake off” that which may bring us down, and recover even stronger. Maybe many more people need to get involved in this discussion in a much more meaningful way.

    I truly believe that the side which will lose this great debate is the side which attempts to strike violently first and force the other into submission. Will it be ours? Or will we try in a thoughtful, evident manner to use reason and knowledge to stave off these attacks on our freedoms.

    To each his own interpretation of current events, just as Lincoln had his own to deal with at that particular point in history. I for one see it entirely counter-productive at this time to strike with that deadly force first and attempt to present justifications later.
