It’s getting closer to crunch time with each passing day. The “crunch” however, is the sound of the breaking of the US economy and the shattering of the bones of the middle class of this once great nation. When the going gets tough, the liberals create a “commission” or a “panel”..
The Wall Street Journal reports in “White House Weighs New Panel to Tackle Deficit” that the Obama administration’s answer to the deficit of their making is to formulate a “bipartisan commission”. The translation from “liberal-squeak” to English of that last phrase is, “a four corner stall where the logical disagreement by the lone Republican allowed to participate can be identified as the work of an “evil monger” or “Astroturf” when the media is around and the liberals can then blame him or her for the inevitable uselessness of the entire bipartisan commission.. Mission Accomplished..
This bipartisan commission is being “considered” because of the “swelling deficit”. The administration is desperate to “show its resolve on a problem that threatens its broader agenda..” This “swelling deficit” is the ten-month’s worth of handiwork by the fellow travelers themselves. Anytime that a liberal wants to “show resolve” they are concerned with an impending election that they know they will lose and the “broader agenda” of this imbecilic administration is built upon the magnification of the deficit that they have manufactured.. The “broader agenda” involves their broader deficit..
This idea is “gaining traction” and “the White House was likely to make its own proposal for a panel, which (would) have less power..” Obama’s alleged clarity of vision before and after his bucolic beatification appears to be waning. In the past, Obama has wanted “immediate action” on the “financial crisis” (Reno Nevada, UNR 09/30/08) or “dramatic action” on the “stimulus” (CBC News 01/08/09). Now with the “financial crisis” that HE is responsible for, we need to take the time to formulate a “bipartisan commission”.. This crisis is considerably more serious than his totalitarian takeover of General Motors and his health scare scam..
“The idea is to bring Republicans and Democrats together to make tough decisions about how to cut costs or raise revenue in areas including Social Security, Medicare and taxes..” It’s almost too much to bear, isn’t it?
The only reason that the liberals want Republican/s around is to try to spread the blame for the fact that these kind of tribunals never accomplish anything except to take the idea behind the commission in question out of the headlines for the time being. Liberals are as allergic to “tough decisions” as they are to bar soap and cologne. When the options available to the liberals are “cut costs or raise revenue” (TAXES), which path have they historically taken? If items like “Social Security, Medicare and taxes” are open to debate, I have a “cut cost” initiative for the liberals. Just a few days ago, Harry Reid BRIBED Mary Landrieu with 300 million tax dollars for Medicaid and the amount he BRIBED Blanche Lincoln with has yet to be exposed. It will NEVER be about cost cutting with the leftist thieves.
Here the Journal hits the nail on the head. “Establishing a commission would show that the Obama administration is serious about tackling the deficit while postponing any real moves until after the 2010 elections..” There it is in black and white. It’s all about the “show”. The liberals can act “serious about tackling the deficit”. It will be stern grimaces and sanctimonious grunts all around from Obama and whichever liberal minions are placed upon this commission when in reality, the liberals are about as good at “tackling” as the average college cheerleader.. The bogus “stimulus” starts paying out before the midterm election and “tackling the deficit” takes place after. The liberals have recently decided to “tackle” the deficit by begging for the deficit ceiling to be raised.. That’s liberal “action” for you.
“The magnitude of the deficit is starting to constrain the Democrats’ room to maneuver..” As oily and slimy as the liberals are, there is no space too small for them to maneuver out of.. “Top House Democrats are pressing for a new tax to pay for any troop increases in Afghanistan..” This “maneuver” will simply be placed into “general revenues” at which time another “crisis” involving the Democratic base of moochers and mendicants will take precedence. Remember, the Democrats “support the troops” but there is a midterm election to think about..
The left is trying to out “maneuver” each other. “An effort by congressional Democrats to pass job-creation measures, such as a tax credit for hiring new workers, faces skepticism from a White House unsure that such ideas are worth the cost..” The “White House” is simply against the idea of a “tax credit” for anyone other than the liberals themselves. Those who possessed “skepticism” about the nonsensical expenditures of this White House which has brought about record unemployment, record deficits and record spending, those who were “unsure that such ideas are worth the cost”, used to be called “un-American” by the liberals..
The Journal even managed to find liberal dinosaur Tom Daschle who added his own amazing insight and simultaneously displayed one of the reasons that he is currently unemployed. “Some kind of commission or budget summit could be the only way to bring Republicans into the decision making in the hopes of generating support for cutting cherished programs or raising taxes..” The South Dakota simpleton missed the mark on all counts.
The Republicans would be there to be blamed for the fact that yet another “commission” will accomplish nothing other than to run as much time off of the clock as possible. The Republicans will be the ones blamed for the “cutting cherished programs” puling. Please refer to the plethora of liberal “cherished programs” that should be ELIMINATED not cut, as these are the actual stumbling blocks that will bog down the “process” of cutting the deficit. “Raising taxes” is the repulsive reflex response from the Democrats, not the Republicans. This idiotic commission will have absolutely nothing to do with “decision making”..
Pelosi and David Obey (as in “obey your master”..) “Vociferously opposed delegating tough decisions to outside panels or commissions..” Please allow me to complete that sentence for the two liberal lunatics, “as long as they include any Republicans..” By the way, liberals don’t make “tough decisions”. About the toughest decision that Pelosi makes is whether today’s Botox injections will go in the right side or the left side of her progressive puss..
The administration wishes to reduce the deficit “to 3% of GDP in coming years, for 2013, for example, the government would have to eliminate about $250 billion from the projected $775 billion deficit..” The only way that that would POSSIBLY happen would be for the nation to do the right thing in 2012 and remove the Bolsheviks from office. Otherwise, the same people who manufactured this mess will be throwing out more of their bogus “projected deficits”..
Evan Byah said, “There are rare moments in this institution when you can implement fundamental change..” The liberal House, Senate and White House does rather closely resemble an “institution” but the “fundamental change” should start taking place with the midterm election of 2010.. “Change” is good, right?
